Congrats!....though I missed it. Smiley: glare

Not too much EQ as I'm prepping for incoming in-laws, arriving today and staying for a week and a half. YIKES.

I did get on for a quick DoN raid sat. night. It was pretty uneventful. But a couple short soloing stints in the Steppes got me level 72 and, finally, the Runed Diamond aug from the Ancient Tomes quest.

My EQ is on hold for 10 days. I'm getting jittery already. Smiley: tongue

Fri - Finished up an island's worth of tasks for the skeletal hand quest and hung out with some guildies. Server crash brought that quickly to an end though.

Sat - Helped my partner reach 57 on his warrior. Hopefully soon the guild will have a real tank instead of relying on my beastlord. ^_^ Started Redfeather Isle quests for the skeletal hand. Hit 15 on the baby iksar SK.

Sun - Had a horrendous pickup group in Valdeholm, but still managed to hit 100 AAs and 72 on the beastlord. Worked a bit on my 2.0 - got the Grimling forest drops and debated on working on tradeskills.

Fri-Sat: No EQ, went outside the super market with my BBSQ on Saturday and Friday and spent the day singing.

Sun: Got the beast to 29 (He's coming along quickly for a new server, no cash char!) And upgraded a few equipment slots.

Friday Played around with paladin in the AM. Took him home got more tribute points, and then to pok for buffage. Parked him in Gunthak.
Went and activated Elnes old account so I can two box a bit. She had removed eq from her comp so i spent time reinstalling it. 200 hours to patch! kept timing out. so I think ill just copy my files to her machine. Logged on Primrosex the druid and took her to ac using Lod. need to pick up some of the hot zone augs.
During the day I went to the Baltimore Book festival. helped set up the BSFS booth. Stopped for lunch at the "World Famous Lexington Market" had a half doz raw oysters and a ***** Johnnys all beef polish dog. At ***** Johnny's the wurst is Baltimore's Best!

Saturdy went to work on the ship. Barnes and Nobles had a tie in with the Book Festival. Had young kids make ship models, and passed out coupons that gave a portion of sales to the Constellation. Lost a crown while eating dried fruit. Evening I came home and Fussed more with the downloads. Playing an old game Empire Deluxe and had the shaman on for a bit with Mandie in BOT. Picked up a parchment that gave me a spell i didnt have. (Thanks Mandie.)

Sunday went to a wedding held at the Md. Ren Faire. Dress in garb, a kilt and shirt. Elne had spent the last 3 days Thurs to Sat. at her middle daughters making some new dresses for her and others. Wedding was nice, wandered faire then went to reception. Very small and quiet. Took lots of food home.
The night was spent downloading and watching THE WAR on PBS.

Lol, Dalnirs is an interesting dungeon, kinda like CT though, unless you have a reason for being there the tricksey mobs are hardly worth the fight.

You gonna be back?

Not truly a weekend happening but worth note to me at least...

Stromm had a random server crash early this morning while me and 2 other good friends were online, after getting back we realized this might just be our only chance of having any chance at one of the friend's SK epic drop in Fear. I had decided already that it was worth any mad attempt to get Terror should we ever luck into actually finding him alive, thanks to the crash there he was.

The 3 of us charged into fear (71 Pally, 71 Necro, and 67 Sk) and went to brawling with the riot of mobs only to catch aggro from the Ireblind Imp and his scarelings which after a 10 minute struggle or so got the Necro killed while me and the sk were mezzed or whatever that awful AE is. I hammer gated and the SK fd'd.

As the Necro recovered in the guild lobby I noticed a very much awake 75 wizzie in our alliance didnt seem to be busy, pestered her into tagging along as well. We went back in and showed the imp and a boatload of adds a thing or two then plowed our way to Terror and managed to lay waste to him as well. We then mistakenly focused on attempting to kill a Dracoliche (believe thats the name of the giant skelly dragon) which was a tall task considering its hit points.

Between it and the rest of the gaggle of mobs attacking we realized we were going nowhere fast with two near manaless casters and two heavily abused tanks, someone looted the tradeable drops and only the SK managed to escape alive before we finally folded under the adds.

Unfortunately the SK piece did not drop off of Terror for us, very disheartening after such a hard fought battle. To top off the madness, the Necro somehow had the ridiculous luck of rolling a perfect 753 of 753 on a /random for the AoN that dropped.

I'm still a little sick over the epic drop not happening, I can only imagine how my friend is feeling.

Of course I'll be back, I just didn't have any money to put on my reloadable "credit card" at the time. I'll be back by next Monday at the latest.

IIRC the thread was started by Bbot. If on the rare occasion he doesent start a new one on a Monday morning someone else usually will.

I allways looked at at as a nice community chat thread about our different going ons.

Threads like this have been going for atleast couple of years. Ive always enjoyed them just to see what other people are doing in EQ the real life events are interesting as well. EQ doesnt have a finish line so game is what you choose to make of it seeing what others are up to is both interesting and can give you ideas for finding enjoyment in game.

Well atleast that why I read weekend reports and post to threads some of the time. =)

This is the earliest weekend update I found with a search. They've been around awhile. Usually one person picks up on them and will be the weekend updater for a bit, but they certainly belong to no one.

I like reading them too. It's one of my 'back-to-work' Monday morning pick-me-ups. Smiley: smile

Yes, Stromm has had 2 random crashes this past week. Oct 02 and 03, both after I had done much casting to get my baby Ranger's unused ABJ, DIV and CONJ skills up. Had to rinse and repeat both times /cry.

Since coming back about 2.5 months ago and finding that my mains on 7th Hammer server were no longer fun as their weapons and armour were good, but nowhere near the standards required by the latest expansions, I revived an old char on Stromm and created a basket full of new ones, now all in their mid-twenties. I spent most of the weekend upping skills and trying to upgrade armour on what I have found to be one very pricey server. I cannot believe the prices charged on this server. My only saving grace may be the fact that I managed to loot the Hatred card and a Legends booster pack. time will tell whether these will sell for enough to gear up whichever char I may choose to become the main if I remain in EQ. At the moment, I'm using the 56 BST to help get some drops for the others, but as I already have a hi level BST on 7th, I doubt I'll push this one much further than 56.

I am as yet unguilded on Stromm, and my current game card expires on the 11th. I have also been notified that I may be deploying to Afghanistan later in the year, so there is much up in the air at the moment. Resubscribing is on the edge of my plate at the moment.

Well. Better late then never I suppose.

My weekend (and a couple sessions this week) have been consumed with my ongoing quest to collect my level 69 and 70 spells. I ran into a nice chanter who makes spells for living (ok, maybe not a living, but he does it). Given the ridiculous rarity of the no-drop runes for those spells (very rare in WoS, and just try getting a group in MPG or RSS these days. They're both "bring your own group" zones now), I figured I'd give him a try (cause I made a good sized bundle selling LoN drops).

Turns out that level 70 spells are easy and relatively cheap. However, the level 69s are much more difficult. There's a rare component that usually sells for a fair amount (he said often 15k or higher), and the combine is very difficult (bout 50/50 on success with maxed everything). Uggh. See, this wouldn't be a problem except that the one spell I *really* wanted was the paladin level 69 HOT. It doubles the heal over time from the previous version and is seriously needed for me to be able to solo a damn thing in this game. Of course, it's number four out of four on the list of stuff you'll get turning in runes...

After his first attempt failed, I embarked on this quest (see! It is EverQuest afterall!). I scoured the bazaar at all hours of the day and night seeking this rare component. I even brought a group to one of the zones in TSS where it drops (didn't get it of course). I had *one* Greater Rune, but saved it, figuring that way if I found any of the other spells in the bazaar (which they do occasionally appear), I could buy and mem the first three and then get the one I wanted with the rune I had. Over time, I managed to pick up the number 2 and 3 spells (Armor of the Champion and Hand of Direction), but it was a race to see if I'd spot the first spell or the component first.

Well. I finally spotted the component I needed (for 5k! :) ). Snatched it up. Contacted the chanter and he met me to combine it. Success! Yay! So now, I've finally got all those spells and can go back to having fun. I dinged 70 during this time period as well, so I'm all set for awhile (gonna grind some AAs for a bit, specially the next ranks of SU). And with all my spells (ok, I'm still missing some quest ones, but I'll worry about that later), I'm feeling good.

Quest Accomplished!

I love the weekend updates, it was so cool reading what others had achieved (hoping that one day I would have a char high enough to do the same things). As of starting the threads, I got the advantage that Monday starts earlier in Austria than in the US... :-P

The weekend update thread never belonged to me; just as Elinda wrote:

Hehe.. I looked up the first full Weekend Update (as opposed to a link to the uBB) and apparently I was still in Halls of Testing way back when I played on Saryrn.

Wow, that takes me back. I remember tanking that wyvern on my bard, too Smiley: laugh
