Run two EQs at once pretty much, some people do lots of configuring to help out in doing so, I dont. Of course I dont box very often or at long duration either.

I just start up one instance of EQ and get it fully logged in, then start the next and log it in as well, then Alt + TAB between the two.

I do the same as saeel except i play in windowed mode so i can switch between accounts by hitting the tab on the tool bar for the account i want. It's a little faster than alt+tab.

Ditto. That's how I do it, too.

i 4 box on same computer. important thing is reduce game graphic settings. unleass you have 4 gb ram and 756 mb vid card.

my older compter i 3 boxed , turned off all lucian modles. and low texture settings. window size windowed and 800x600 with 1 gb ram 256 mb vid

hope this helps if not working off the bat or find alot of lag

I can box 5 toons on the same system. I have 5 different EQ directories and just alt tab between the windows (playing in windowed mode). I have found that trying to run all of the accounts from the same directory causes some loss of resources/conflicts.

Running AMD 3800, 4GB RAM and a 512MB video card.

I 2-3 box on my PC useing wineq. I found that when I just alt-tabbed I was crashing a lot. WinEQ made it seamless. I only run from 1 directory as I never noticed a change from when I had multipal ones.

I four boxxed EQ on my laptop when I came back to EQ recently and no longer had 6+ computers to use per account. I even split my laptops screen (17" WS, X800 video card 4gigs ram P4 3.4Ghz...was the best when I bought it, getting outdated now) into four sections with each EQ account showing on screen at the same time because I MUST!! see everything :) . Moving around was major lag, but once my "support accounts" were where I needed, it played fine that way. I have since rebuilt 2 more computers from parts I had laying around and bought two Walmart special desktops ( 3800+, 1gig ram, 6100 onboard nvidea, 17" LCD monitor and for only $489 complete system. I like building my own desktops, but I cannot come close to that price although I can easily make one better for $200ish more...but for boxxing EQ, this was the easy choice) to once again box all 6 accounts on 6 individual computers...when I feel like it. Usually I just try to find a real group and just play only my rogue.

i tried two-boxing and had a tough time of it. first, i installed another copy of EQ on the same system (amd ahtlon 3500, 1gb ram, radeon 9800). the first copy of eq to load would run great, while the second copy would lag. i found i couldn't use /follow without the second account lagging behind (i play a bard and the speed definitely had something to do with that), plus, the entire game for the second account was laggy, even with all the display settings reduced to minimal.
then i dug out another of my computers, set it up on the same desk as my main comp, installed EQ , and tried again. the machine is a bit worse so i had graphics set to minimal again, and while i found i could autofollow, i noticed a bit more lag with casting and attacking. plus, it was a little awkward using a second keyboard and a second mouse.

i want to give it another go, but i don't know any convenient, struggle-free method of having the two accounts set up. is alt+tabbing preferable over having two monitors, so i can see both accounts at the same time ? are there apps i can download to help ?
