SoE problems?Follow

All right, call this a lil' rant or whatever you will, but i have just recently come off from playing EQ tonight, i actually stopped because of what was going on was complete BS.

I am just starting again after a LONG break. Not including some of the problems i had with the craptastic test server, even buying/getting on this game, trying to get it to function the way it should once i was online (D/C whenever i went to respawn, and return to the server select screen whenever changing zones with it still thinking i was online).

I am a mage coming up on level 15 now, still playing after sorting through all that BS and getting the game to work how i remember it working back when i first started on a friends account. Upon reaching level 14 i noticed several spell not in the PoK library and come here to find out they are in the Ocean of Tears. So off to Butcherblock i go since i like having spells in my inventory ready for me when i level. I reach the docks and only see one shuttle halfling. When hailed it can only take me to Timorous Deep.

On this site i read i was to take the shuttle and go to the island next to the one after i teleport there. W/o thinking and an honest mistake by myself i search every island next to teh main one in timorous deep, maxing my swimming from 3-75 in the process, about 4-5 hours worth including one death, attempting to find spells. Then looking back on here i, very pissed off by now search several forums and the beastiary looking for answers, and i find it... the shuttle person to Ocean of Tears does not exist there anymore. It disapeared when no one was looking.

I switch windows back to EQ, and just in case search the entire dock area. She wasn't there. I check the GM list, none online. I do a /petition and it takes me to thier help which on a missing NPC, the advice is to... "do a /petition" Severely pissed off at the lack of any service in game, i go to /ooc and complain some, as many people i know would do in the situation. Of course then, while i was in the docks still, a Red Aqua Goblin Spawns next to me and kills me. Inside the dock area where they shouldn't spawn.

All i gotta say is after my free month is up SoE can kiss my fat a$$ since they won't be seeing any payed months from me until they straighten thier **** out. Customer service is a joke, and the game is full of enough bugs it would make the Orkin man cry for mercy or in real computer terms the geek squad shoot themselves. Pathetic for a game that has been out so long.

Didn't they take out the translocator because they put the boat back in?

If you don't like the challenge (and sometimes satisfaction) of figuring things out for yourself, EQ is most definitely not the right game for you.

other than going outside of the game to websites, or having someone give you the answer ingame, there is a complete lack of information ingame to even play the game past the noobe cave unless of coarse, you just want to grind xp.

And yet, oddly, people figured out all these quests the first time ON THEIR OWN.

I know when I was doing my Epic 1.5 quest I was thinking "how did someone figure this out the first time?" but then I remembered people doing it on the necro boards. "What do you think this means?" "Well, have you tried?"

See, it's EverQUEST.. not EverPOSTAL. I love WoW, and I love raiding in WoW.. and for my desired level of effort I like having the quest NPCs on the map and clear instructions. But I can see how people that thought Myst was the best game ever might enjoy the questing in EQ.

To each his own.

Can I have your stuff?
