Legends of Norrath Promotion Weekend Sept. 28-30

Calling all EverQuest® and EverQuest® II players! What's more fun than defeating opponents in your game and picking up Legends of Norrath booster packs, starter decks, and combo packs? Well, how about the opportunity to get even more of them?

Introducing the Legends of Norrath Promotion Weekend beginning at 2PM (PDT) Friday, September 28th and concluding at 11:59PM (PDT) on Sunday, September 30th. During this special weekend, EQ and EQII players will not only enjoy a significantly increased rate of card pack drops, but will have the opportunity to obtain two brand new cards, Hatred (1P1) and Switch (1P2):

For now, these two new cards will only be available during this three-day promotional weekend, so don't miss out on the chance to get them!

It's not only a great time for current Legends of Norrath players to score big, but the perfect opportunity for EQ and EQII players to come see what all the buzz is about with this great new addition to the universe of Norrath. It will be a blast – especially with such an increased opportunity to win cards!

So combat those EQ and EQII enemies this weekend and loot, loot, loot! Then use your card bounty to continue on your way to becoming the ultimate Legends of Norrath player!

Bazaar prices will go down, I think... damn, wish I could play this weekend!

I have to ask...I've been soloing myself up to level 39 in Blightfire moors and i keep hearing people talk about these cards, and I saw a level 55 Shammie ride by on a black panther-looking cat. I asked him where he got it and he said from the cards. Asking him about the cards I'm told they're random drops.
Level 39...mind you...and I've never seen a card. Where do these supposedly drop?
I've also heard of people paying money for "booster packs" in other threads. I'm sorry but I feel I'm missing something.
I have seen the button about "Legends of Norrath" and it brings me to a tutorial to play the card game. Do I have to go through the tutorial to get some cards?
I'm going to guess I'm not the only person confused by all this...HELP!!!

Yes go through the tutorial and at the end they will give you a starter deck and 2 booster packs for free. When you open each deck, there is a small chance of getting a card that gives you an item in regular game like that panther mount. You may even get 2 starter deacks and 4 booster packs, but am not sure, maybe I got it twice b/c I participated in the beta for it. Also in the regular game, tradable items drop that will give you booster packs in the card game. These are the itmes that have increased drop rate for this weekend. Even if you do not play the card game, these items have a value for trading. People are activily trading items like the panther mount for unopened booster packs just to have a chance of getting some other item they desire.

Someone had told me that you can't trade cards with other players until you purchase at least one booster pack from SoE, they are $1.99 each. I do not know if that is true, and I hope it is not, as that would **** me off.

This is why I'm sooooo happy my friend got me a year's subscription to Allahkazam - no one could tell me all this in the game.
WOW! So you can actually buy these booster packs? I did the first part of the tutorial but to be honest it confused the heck out of me. I mean, I play a warrior and all I have to really do is hack and slash as spells tend to baffle me. I've never played card games like "Magic" or even "Pokemon" and the idea of a card game thrown into a virtual world game seems like buying a 3.7 gig laptop with a gig or two of ram, high end video card, etc, just to play pong.
But the chance to get some of these things I've been seeing, esp with my now level 39 warrior...kewl!
Thanks for the info...stuff to ponder for sure :)

So once I sign up, do tutorial, etc, there will be chances for some of the stuff to drop from mobs, right? (that's what it sounds like anyways - with an increased chance to drop this weekend).

Just an FYI. You do not need to run the tutorial to get boosters or startup kits to drop in game. I got a booster drop before I'd ever even found the LoN button in the game or visited the site, or read anything about it.

They are random drops in the game. Just like any other. They will only drop on light blue or higher mobs (how they /con to you that is). Keep killing stuff and you will get a drop eventually.

Explain this in greater detail please. I did the LoN tutorial and didn't get anything.
