What classes to dual box? (info inside)Follow

Im having trouble deciding what to dual box

my goals in dual boxing at the moment is to:

* make cash

*solo(dou) efficently (AAEXP, levels, get equipment/items)


This is a plus is if there great at taking down old raid mobs for fun if I get bored


I understand that there are many combinations but can someone suggest me the top 3 dual boxs teams that can make what I want possible



Really I like every class so no class is eliminated from the options

1. Shaman/Shadowknight
2. Druid/Beastlord
3. Monk/Shaman

All three are great combinations that can take most group-level content with ease.

I agree with the monk/shaman box idea. I have a level 75 wiz that I am starting to get bored kiting with (2400aas will do that you) so I asked my friend if I could use his shaman to duo with my monk. I thought I was gonna have problems since neither are really that geared at all but I was killing in MPG and orb of subversion instance with hardly any problems at all. Only problem I ran into at all was that I needed a snare but could usually either root or just disc the mob to its death near the end.

1. Zerker/Shammy
2. Beastlord/Druid
3. Shadowknight/Wizard (Though not ideal by any stretch, I've had a lot of fun with this combo.)

I box a beastlord/'zerker duo. Not ideal, but I have snares, slows, DPS, and some small heals with the beastlord. Beast tanks due to more defensive AAs and lifetap augs and can always back off and pop a heal when needed.

My personal choices would be:

1. Shadowknight / Shaman
2. Monk / Shaman
3. Berserker / Shaman

could replace Shadowknight with Paladin.

I currently run a necro/ranger box, and do quite well with it. I know that might be an odd mix, but the ranger was my first toon ever and when I got my second account, all I cared about was finding a good kiter to xp with him. But for ease of use, the ranger's bow DPS is about as easy as they come. If I want to get serious with him, Spirit of Eagle makes it easy for my necro to get way ahead of the mob so I can take my ranger in and DPS without much danger of my necro taking any hits. The ranger buffs help the necro pet DPS and are also very nice on the necro. SoE especially makes kiting easy. But this is pretty much just a kite team. If you want something that can take some hits, I always thought a mage/shaman combo would be a fun, flexible setup.

shaman/pali

pali for pulling, or sk for snare/fear/fd pulling.

shaman is a must for double bo. you NEED heal and you NEED slow past level 50.

Note that once you move into the 60s and stop facing mobs level 55 and under, Pacify pulling vanishes for Pallies and leaves only the option of root parking on multiple pulls as a means of fighting singles.

take this with a grain of salt (mildly put). I would phrase it:
if you want to hunt new world mobs (GoD and newer) you will find it difficult to survive without a slower/healer.

I was always partial to the Shammy/Pally duo myself. I'm biased though.

Shaman/Shadow Knight greater than Shaman/Paladin cause of one thing...

Snare


If you really wanted a Pally then Druid/Pally makes more sense imho.

Or just make a Necro/anything and let the necro solo and the other just leach exp. That works too.

I love my Beast/Cleric combo and I have no problems hunting in Dire or AG. Great for doing the Katta missions if you can get a bot or soloer to join you to get the missions. Covers almost everything just got to be creative with pulls, paci pulls, root pulls even pet OT works with the healing power of the cleric.

I can see the attraction of the Druid/Beast combo. Ports, more reliable snare (althought I rarely get resists or non snared mobs now with Hobble on warder), nice DS, extra dps from dots ...

Rehogan, when your Shaman is a troll worshipping Inny you get a clicky snare quest item. No problem then with paladin combo. Granted the more time I have been in my 60s the less I use the snare.
IMHO any two classes can make a nice pair. I have done ranger cleric, shaman zerk (wave Mandie!) If you want to make money first and formost do make a shaman, you can always pick up spare coin doing potions, buffs, and they can even solo!

Oh and Kajolus, is there a german saying that is close to the intent of the english phrase "Take it with a grain of salt"? I also have some luggald saliva if the quest can be mq'd.
