Planning On ReturningFollow

Hey, i'm thinking of returning to EQ after several years, just couldn't completely leave the rich universe. I had been playing since the old days, back when Ruins of Kunark was just coming out. I quit maybe in 02 i think. So I have expansions up to and including Lost Dungeons of Norrath. I actually still have an account and the highest character on that account is a 47 Monk (yes i suffered from the "get character to level 10 and then delete him" syndrome.) I dabbled a bit in WoW, but the environment just wasn't the same compared to EQ. anyway didnt mean to bore you folks...let me get to the point

To have a pretty decent character in EQ will i need to buy the rest of the Expansions? i'm not planning on getting a character up to past 60 but just to have a nice experience will the expansions i have now be enough? also any feedback about what i should expect from the game now? what class should i make if i dont want to have to rely on groups for getting good XP. (back in my day bards were great soloers but its probably changed)
