Reset Device Failed is caused by your graphic card overheating 8 times out of 10. If playing on a desktop, open your case and direct a fan on high setting into your case. Laptops can be much more tricky for obvious reasons. I suggest closing any unwanted programs using the START, RUN then type MSCONFIG and disable unnecessary programs at start up. You may also try going into your EQ Files Folder and deleting these items- UI-<Character>_<server>.ini , EQClient.ini , Eqgfx_dx8.dll , Eqmain.dll , Eqgame.exe. *Some of the old UI files may have been corrupted since a few patches ago <Per SoE Tech> and they were not overwritten. All of these files will be restored at the EQ Patcher so don't worry. Lastly try lightening the load on your graphic card by matching your windowed mode resolution to the SAME resolution IN the EQ game. Do this by right-clicking on your screen and selecting Properties, then settings. Most refresh rates are automatically set at 60Hz so try increasing that up to 85Hz as well. *This will help so your graphic card is not constantly battling with different resolutions. If none of these answers solve your problem then you most likely have a bad graphic card and its time to invest in a better one! Hope this Information has been helpful! =)

I get that often when I switch between Windows and EQ too many times. EQ is in full screen mode but I do have the screen res and refresh rate set the same for both so the video card wouldn't need to switch modes.

The video card does have a 3rd party cooling fan added and the temp rarely exceeded 55 degree C (133 F for the USA) so it's not the heat issue for sure.
