i bought in april 2006 a 2 yr subscription for 2 accounts $199 each great deal
in june 2006 i added station access to one account.
2 yrs ago i did same thing and it was an easy thing to do they just added the differance from normal suscpition $15.95 to the all access sub. $20.95 = a fee of $5.00 per month so the following 2 yrs i just paid $5.00 a month on top of the $199.00 2 yr fee not bad. after 1 yr the fee for the all access went up $3 so they added the $3.00 per month for the remainder of the yr.
all good for the past one just adding the extra a month on top.
this time around in june when i added the all access. they characges for 3 months at a time $30 as the subcription fees for access went up again.
so no big deal paying another $30 every 3 months was ok $10 a month more then the $199 yr fee.
heres the issue, i expected this to continue till 2008 april when the 2 yrs was up. but by febuary 2007 i noticed i was being charaged $30 a month, not $30 every 3 months any more. i went to support email and was told that i used up the 2 yr in fees with in 1 yr i got for the all access accounts.
this doesn't make sence to me , if i pre pay 2 yrs and add extra cost and pay for the extra cost in 3 month intervules, how would an extra $100 worth of fees that should be paying for another yr of free everquest. not the access account witch just should continue to come out eigther monthly or every 3 months like the past yr has just dissapear.
everyone knows that fighting with support is in most cases pointless.
it's not enough to make me quit the game. but infact i play more now that i pay $30 a month for it instead of the $30 a 3 month fee.

i think i found the answer. and it sucks big time.
SOE has in help site that if you upgrade to access all the time you currently have will be used up first as access price.
eg. i bought 24 months for $199 = $8.3 a month cool price
with 21 months left i upgraded to access $30 a month total fee
you'd think the right thing to do is just take the normal $15 eq sub price off the access fee as you prepaid the 2 yrs. which they did do for me 3 yrs ago the first time i didi this.
BUT NOPE they take the $199 / 24 = 8.3 * 21 month left = $175 left in fees and / that by $30 giving me 5.8 months of access pre paid for. and the $30 every 3 months ended up giving my 10 months intotal.
here's why is sucks and i feel very ripped off for 3 months i paid $8.3 a month for eq since then i paid $30 a month for access and eq. which makes it that i pay $15 a month for eq for the past 10 months and and extra $15 for the rest of access.
EQ cost $15 normally all access for another $15. therefor anyone who prepays for eq to have price reduced 3,6,12,24 months should only have to prepay the eq amount and add the $15 a month more for access
i lost 21 months of everquest at $8.3 a month that i prepaid for. endding up paying the full $15 a month for the eq. this is wrong. prepay for the better deal. they should have told us this would happen . or reinburse us whats left and let us pay monthly. or just add access to prepay plan with eq prepay plan.

Here's what happened, you changed your subscription. You thought you were just adding things to your current (2yr subscription) subscription. Its 2 entirely different subscriptions.
Everquest has its own subscriptions plans
The all access plan is completely seperate and will supercede all other subscriptions. So when you subscribe to all access, all your other subscriptions are cancelled and any prepayment that is unused is applied to the All access subscription.
It doesn't work like the way you thought it did, where you had a 2 yr subscripton for eq and that upgrading to all access was an add on to your original plan.
Only thing I can say is, you should have read the details a bit closer.

i do see the details now . but i didn't re-read the details which have changed. since the last time i did this.
leason learned though just because the rules say yes this way today. doesn't mean when you sign up for it a week later the rules will be the same as a week ago.
as i said before i won't quit because of this i still love eq. just dissapointed .
