I spent some time grinding away, and am almost 49 on my mage (3.2k mana, 1.6khp with temp), and I need to find a place to level up.
BW offers little experience for me now, and the giants are hard to single pull - the discord zone (You get there through PoD) is great experience, but I was there with a guldie (Two box enc + cleric), and we got wiped after close to 2 hours, by a single blue con who killed my pet almost instantly, and came close to killing me...
So I either need to figure out how to stay safe there, or find a new zone.
Any suggestions? I really want to get to 51 so I can start getting AAs, and do some low level plane raids.

Plane of Justice if you can find a group. The Mesa?
There are tons of places to xp at your level and with a mage most are soloable.
Check out this post for some ideas, but also go to the 'zones by level' page from the side bar at the left.
Here is a zone experience modifier chart with some good info though it's likely out of date. Basically dungeons will give you better xp than open hunting grounds.

Go to Burning Woods, its a hotzone, you can get a aug, and do the gears quest for a head piece upgrade. If it's a upgrade for you that is. Exp will be pretty good, and there is usually people in the zone if you wish to group. As a sidenote you could stay there to L52/53 if you wish, but L51 for certain. That is by no means the only choice.
