Anyone else having this problem? I have two accounts both of which the mains are in CR. When I click enter world the game locks up. so two accounts and two computers cant log to CR. I can log into a few other areas I have tried.

EDIT: char on 7thhammer

When running the patcher, click the "Advanced" button. Then make sure the Serpent's Spine expansion is checked and do a complete file check. It might be you're missing a file or have a corrupt file.

Good luck!

It seems my isp has a problem with the port CR is using on the 7th. Nothing SOE can/will do, nothing my isp can/will do so it seems I am SOL until the next time CR goes down....

... great way to welcome a returning subscriber...

What?!? Who the hell told you that? While it is possible, it's so far fetched as not to be believed.

Can anyone confirm that CR from 7th is on it's own dedicated server? If not, it's not the only zone thats going to cause an issue. Unless someone can confirm and back up the fact that it is, I call BS.

Lets look at this as if it were true.

1. You would not be the only person effected as I am sure your not the only person using your ISP who plays EQ. This would mean multiple people were being effected and SOE could easily fix this.

2. Your ISP could unblock the specific port (this just doesn't seem right) for a temporary time period. Not likely but possible.

3. SOE could move your character to another zone.

Definitely far out. For SOE to use a different port clientside for one specific zone (and it would be just one or we'd have heard about it long ago), they would have had to have a fairly compelling reason. Why not use the same port the rest of EQ uses?

I'd think your problem is you either haven't installed, or haven't bought, the TSS expansion.

A common problem, is an invalid UI also. If it only happens on characters using a custom UI, try renaming the UI directory, so EQ will be forced to use the default one, this also assuming you did a complete file scan in the Advanced options of the patcher, to ensure the default one is updated and not corrupted also.

Just another thing to check. I'm with Whitman in doubting the port problem. Although I haven't recently, I used to run EQ through a very port-limited proxy and it worked fine, where almost any internet chat apps either would not work at all, or required heavy modifications in either the app or the proxy or both.

Yther Ore.

Yeah, sounds pretty fishy to me too.

I'd try all other suggestions listed here. Check your game files for corrupt or missing files, use the default UI and, most easily, try the return home option.

Good luck.

My chars home is CR so no go there. Its been a few days and still cant log those chars. I can log chars into CR on other servers.

So my mains are stuck until whenever.

Same issue with someone else in feb 06. not a new issue.

I remember there being a program that was posted on these forums that changed the port to what you needed to get in. I think there was a problem with one of the patches that kept a few people out because of that. I don't know if that would help or not I couldn't find the post and I couldn't find it on google.
