I don't know.

But...I've always had more success with EQ technical issues at the EQ official technical forums than this forum.

If, however, someone around here knows the answer I'm sure they'll chime in.

My suggestion would be to try it. Maybe you won't have any troubles????

You'll have problems because EQ wasn't designed for Vista yet. There's a way to run it, after installing it, you right click on the EQ icon and click on run as administrator, in properties. They should be coming out with a compatibility patch soon.

Runs fine. Just need to make a few small adjustments depending on what happens.

Hey guys,
Thanks for the feedback on this question. Just to give a follow up on EQ and Vista, run *.exe with admin permissions, also if you have a file Windows or say Cisco Pix (whatever) put the appropriate exceptions in. So yes it runs fine “for me”.

Thanks for the update. I've been hesitating buying a new laptop, but maybe I'll go ahead and take the plunge. I have a bonus coming up next month and need something to spend it on. Smiley: tongue

MissMandie,

A few things to keep in mind when getting your new computer with Vista, the operating system is a resource hog. If you can afford it max out your memory on the system. I also run Vista in Windows classic mode to help with system performance (this can also be done in Windows XP). Hope that helps.

Thank you much! I'll keep that in mind.

Honestly, don't get Vista if you have the choice, especially on a laptop.

Still has a lot of bugs and the amount of resources it uses is not worth the bonuses it offers.

A good portion of the computers being sold with Vista are using near 100% of their available resources to run it. Now imagine how the lower to mid range laptops are doing.

If you have to get a laptop with Vista, be ready to spend at least $2000 if you want it to do much more then run the OS.

Well, I definately don't want to spend $2000 for a laptop. Is it possible to get one without Vista? I haven't really looked much yet.

You just have to search around. Last I looked Sony was still offering Laptops with XP instead of Vista.
