Hi, I'm thinking about coming back to EQ...as I played for a year or two..but quit in fall of 2005. I had a 61 warrior (with bloodfrenzy, from the event in SSRA, some nice buyable gear, and a monster mission sword, that was, if i remember correctly, pretty nice, --he had around 50 AA's). I also had a bard that was 57 (I think) with also some nice buyable gear, and a good amount of monster mission gear, and also around 50 AA's. Both this warrior and bard were (and I hope, still are, Emp keyed :P and have done a few planes things...as that was where my guild was before I quit) The bard, being the only in guild, and probably shouldn't have been allowed to come along, had seen emp and blood twice, without ever kiling them. I also had a necro that was kind of twinked, with health regen gear at somewhere around level 20. I am pretty sure that the guild I was with no longer exists by checking it's website, and if it does, not with enough people to regularly group with. My questions are, which character should I go with, and pick up as my "main" to get to 75 with. I have no preference over the three characters, in which I'd prefer to play at 75. I can guess that there is a lot to learn, with the new expansions since DoDH. Also, is killing Emp, finally after all of that hard work...an option?..or would it be a miracle to find a guild doing ssra, as it was rare for one to be doing it when mine was? I love the bard and warrior for all the time in them, and plan to get them to 75, but am not sure how outdated their gear is, and I'm also not sure if they are the best to learn on. The necro I was thinking would be the best choice to learn on (and solo with, if it came down to it), to get up there :P..but I'd prefer it be one that is closer so I dont have to take the time to get another toon 55+, and soon 75 :) to experience the high end content, and eventually raiding.

What Server are they on?

I know my server Bristelbane there seems to be a shortage of good Tanks and also bards.

I think your gear will be a bit dated now but thats not to much of a problem because there is a lot of buyable gear in the Baz and if you have TSS theres loads of Quests you can do.

If it was me I would go with the one you enjoyed playing the most, if you got the PP in the bank pop to the Baz and gear up a little so your about a 10 - 14 khps with high AC.

go to a hot spot and Exp away I'd do a 50/50 AA/XP mix and have some leadership ones going to boot.

Then look out for people you enjoy grouping with and maybe join there guild if they are doing the stuff you want to do.

I say play them all a little to get a feel for each and see which one is the most fun. The new regen system has made being a tank more plausible; it is even possible to solo with a warrior now. [:yipee:]

I havent played a bard, but they keep you busy and have alot of utility. Warriors are fun, straight forward though. Playing a necro can be challenging, but they solo really well when you figure them out.

Anyway, my advise is too take them all out for "a spin", and go from there.

p.s. Soddslaw, love the sig. Smiley: sly

Thanks for the replies :)..
I have been on Maelin..and from what I have seen, it still has a pretty good population...Soo are you guys saying that there isnt a whole lot to learn, and I can just pick up one of the higher char's..gear them up a bit..and then start questing..and get the hang of the new things pretty fast?..Also any input on doing ssra?..or is that a lost cause?

Yeah, the warrior will be the easiest to get to know fast, the necro is low enough to learn quick also. The bard, well, you might make a few mistakes, but Rez's are easier to get now a days in the guild lobby Smiley: grin

I would go to a hot zone that is one below your level to start, pulling light blues and greens to start. Also, do a /who all warrior/bard/necro to ask questions once you start.

Or go to a zone you remember well and hunt there.

Either way, I think you can load those characters up and get started.

Have fun.

I'd go with Bard. There are not enough of them wandering Norrath playing their helpful songs.

Aye go with bard. If anything you can solo better than war and guilds need you more than tanks. Bard shortage =(.
