So if I am understanding the SOE help, when using a shroud you still get exp for your char, Is this at a reduced rate? Does faction get adjusted from what you kill? As you play as a monster you work to unlock more monsters of that type? Can you group with people not using a shroud?

1. Yes
2. No idea
3. Yes
4. Yes, that is why they did it, so low levels could play with their friends.

I'd personally put the shrouds as more of a novelty/niche use for the most part. Most all aren't capable of doing as well of a job as an equal level player with even average gear. (assuming the playing skill is the same) Though I would say the disparity isn't as noticeable at the lower levels, compared to higher. I've used shrouds plenty of times to play healer or tank for a low level group of friends who needed the help.

Also I'd say the experience gained in shroud form is lessened somewhat, from what it would be as your normal self, but i'm only going with how it has seemed when i've played shrouded.

shrouds are basically useless. I unlocked all of the reptile shrouds on my main before I had 500 AAs because I was bored and side by side my lvl 70 sk would do more damage than a shrouded 70 zerker in the highest evolved stage. If a real tank does more damage than a shrouded dps class, I'd imagine my lifetaps were probably on par with the shrouded cleric. It was usefull however for using the rogue to shroud down and PL a pure caster, but this was using 3 accounts (druid who was doing most the work, rogue shroud that was using throw stone to make sure one point of damage was done to everything, and caster who just sat there and got xp) Please start putting these questions into the returning player thread, that way in 2 days when someone has the same question you do we can refer them there and the answer will be readily available. Thanks!

LDoN is rarely used today. Instances in general are requested through an NPC or an interactive object, that one of you party requests the start of a misison, and when each of you click the object, or say key word to the npc you are transported into the zone and only memebers of your grp or raid can enter into this instanced zone. Multiple copies of the same zone can exist for multiple groups. That is the basic purpose of instanced to allow a zone to be experenced as a grp or raid as designed without any outside competition or help.

Monster Missions are type of Instanced zone, you change into a monster when you enter, kind of like an RPG within a RPG. (wow how shakespearian) They can be lots of fun if done once or twice and a few of the ones that give augs are worth doing for the loot, and some are worth doing for the fun, like the Nagafen Raid where you can play Nagafen - that is a blast.

Things like Augs, out of combat regen, DoN crystals and progression, newer quest inferfaces, will be much more important changes to get used to. Basically you can add an item called an aug with stats to a piece of armor and increase its overall stats, it results in basically twice as many gear pieces to hunt and quest for. Doing missions in DON zones will get you crystals you can spend at special marchants, the crystals are tradable and the augs on these maarchants and a couple of the gear pices are very nice. Just use allas to figure out the best pieces of gear for your toon and level, and also best augs for the same, and you will need to travel to many newer places, and soem older ones, and you will learn all you need along the way.
