/emotes and /commands you could hear?Follow

I am a returner. I have an extremely vague recollection from 2004 of /emotes and other /commands I could hear, as if there were some sort of audio file associated with the command. Is there a downloadable audio file for these or did I just forget to take my medication? I'll accept ANY guess on what am talking about.

firstly, WB :)

two things come to mind.
1 - audio triggers (although I think they relased those in 2006 iirc) - linkie here: http://strategywiki.org/wiki/EverQuest/Frequently_Asked_Questions#Audio_Triggers
2 - audio commands you can use to communicate a few basic things to your group like "attack", "retreat" and a few more. am no expert on them (hardly use them at all), maybe someone else knows it a tad better.

#2 is called Voice Macros, and you can access them with Ctrl+V by default, or EQ button - Actions - Voice Macros.

If you want to add them to a hot, just select one, and hold down the target channel to make a hot key, you can right-click to see the command for that Voice and channel.

They are basically of the form: /vgroup # or /vraid # or /vtell player #, for each of the 3 channels, group, raid, and tell, respectively. The # is replaced by the Voice # listed in the Voice Macro window.

Of course, these only work well, if you have speakers on and volume not muted :D

Yther Ore.
