hey, why wont the game start when i click on the icon?Follow

the game wont start when i click on the icon.

im running windows vista, 2.0 dual core, 2gig system ram. nvideo with 256ram.as..i

i installed game from the aniversary edition with all the expansions.

a little box flashes up with some letters..
eqfecfg.cfg

once an error message poped up, and it said the patchers was running, but i dont see any patcher running.

the box goes away real quik, and then nothing happens.
i restarted computer, and still same problem..
whats up.

Thats a loading box for the patcher basically. Search around the official forums and look for a program that helps with duel cores. Basically the game programming doesn't work well with duel core processors and your going to need a program that stabilizes the 2 cores.

Not sure how well it will work for Vista but it works wonders for my PC's.

When you click the EQ icon, you don't actually start the game, you start the game patcher. The patcher then scans the EQ files on your hard drive against the list of current files from the EQ servers, and automatically downloads whatever files you lack/have been changed since last you played. Only when that is done can you click 'Play'.

My guess is the patcher is aborted either due to some dual-core issue (unlikely) or because of a firewall setting (much more likely).

Solution: You need to let your firewall/antivirus know that EQ can alter files on your hard drive.
