I Hope I Can Come Back....Follow

So I've been away from EQ for roughly 6 months or so, as I've been on and off for the past 7 years. I was thinking about it the other day, and I went online and found that SoE's bumped the price up to $30 a month? I mean I knew they'd hit a bump in the road when SWG and WoW came out, but I wouldn't think they would up the price... then again, with customers leaving all the time, it might have been necessary. In any case, I really hope I can come back and start playing again (If I can get the money together XD...and considering that there are practically no stores around me that sell EQ game cards now... and I am not about to use my credit card for it haha) because I still feel like I have so much more to do, even though way back in 2000 my goal was to get an Epic weapon (the original...none of that 1.5 or 2.0 BS) and a pair of Golden Efreeti Boots hahaha.
Anyway, Hopefully I can come back, because I'd love to spend some time in old Norrath again =). If anything major has changed in the past couple months, I'd love to know!

Norfare Fae`Oallon- 61 Mage (Epic)
Atheldur- 55 Monk (Epic)
Anladar Ve`eurlen- 54 Druid (Epic)
Erellont Alcarin- 38 Bard

Just a note about pricing. It's < $16 / month for just EQ, it's only around $30 / month if you get a Sony station pass that gets you monthly play time on many Sony Online games, if you own the game, as well as some features, such as premium access to eqplayers.com.

I believe you can still get cards at Best Buy, but generally have to have them ordered. They were also offered online at the Sony store, but I haven't checked recently at either place.

I still buy SoE game cards (can be used for any of the SoE supported titles) all the time in Best Buy (my preferred method of keeping an open account).

They stay somewhat well in stock (say 75% of the time, maybe) at most stores I've visited.

Somewhat unrelated, but for anyone that uses them, be sure and open your package asap after leaving the store, as I have not once but twice gotten home to find an empty box, no card to be found. And this happened from two stores hundreds of miles apart no less.

...a thought I forgot...

If the game card isn't going to be viable for you, and you don't wish to use your own credit card for the subscription (I wouldn't like having the auto-renewing myself in that situation). You could always get a "Debit" chargeable credit card. Most drug stores seem to carry them, and I imagine larger gas station chains may as well. They work pretty much just like a gift card, in that you pay, where you buy the card, the amount you want put onto the card. It can then be used just like a normal credit card.

I have a Visa one, "Green Dot" is the specific name for it, I also believe there were MasterCard ones where I purchased mine.

Finally, note that there is a one time charge for buying the card itself (I think it was $15-20, can't remember) But after that its free to add money to it again. Depending on the card/company, there may also be a small monthly fee ($3-5 from what ive seen) on any existing balance on the card. (it will be taken off any balance above $0 on a monthly basis, if you have no money on the card currently, then there is no fee.) So I would recommend only putting money on there as you are ready to spend it rather soon, and not going too far over the needed amount.

Also (haven't I already said Finally once? heh) finding locations to recharge the card is rather easy for the Visa one from my experience. The GreenDot website has a feature that allows you to look up the nearest locations from your own that will allow you to do so.

Anyways...best of luck with the comeback =)
