Question about raiding.Follow

#1 May 27 2007 at 4:19 PM Rating: Decent
hello. i used to play eq years ago, i had a 65 hunter and shaman. i quit just about when gates of discord came out. and i sold my accounts.

since i've been playing wow etc, and other mmos. but their not rly as good as everquest1.
the reason i quit was rly because i couldent move on, there was no guilds i could join that raided and progressed. not any that would make it to plane of time within the first 2 years atleast. and it just got boring. then again i was playing on a very small server.. "venril sathir".

i dont really know what has happend to the game since, but if i started all over, would it be possible for me to make it to the end game?

and how is the game now? do you etc have to go through a year of rading through planes etc before you can advance in lvl and see the content in the new expansions?

You would face a good bit of work getting into "raiding shape" for this era of higher tier raiding content I would think, considering 75 is the new level cap and tons of gear and AAs have been put out there since you went away...

...though honestly I can't see how anything can hold anyone back from being involved in the upper raiding game so long as you have the playtime to spare, and the doggedness to stick with it.

I can't really give specific examples as far as the current top content, though I'm sure there are others here who can...

You can select the old character models in the options (before the login screen, not the in-game options). You can also get the old ui at eqinterface. There are few of the new character models I like, but not many, even though they have more triangles and are smother, the old ones definitely looked better overall. And, since when you left there hasn't really been any revamp of models, other than zones that you don't see in the tutorial / escape to norrath, and a few mob models, like orcs. Either you never turned advanced models on before, or you just got used to other games' graphics.

You might try it out again, with old models, instead of the advanced ones, and see if it then looks like how you remembered it.

Yther Ore.

==== EDIT ====
Bah. Not sure if you can use a custom UI in the trial, but if you can, get the default_old one, to make the UI look like it used to also. The new UI is horrid, and imho the worst graphic change they ever made.
