Extended Enhancement ItemsFollow

I have tried to get a straight answer from EQ/Sony about this, but no luck, so will try here..

After much expense, 250 Radiant Crystals each, I purchased 3 EE V augs " Volcanic Farcaster Stone " from the DoN Merchant, One for my Enchanter, one for my Cleric, and one for my Beastlord, in Hopes of extending their Buffs even more then they were with the EE IV item " Ceramic Shield of Valor "

Now with the EE IV item my Enchanter was casting 247 minutes of KEI, and my Cleric was casting 247 minutes of Virtue / Conviction,....I got the Augs, equiped them and instead of seeing 255 minutes of buffs, to my disapointment, I see 247.30 minutes, A .30 second increase with the EE V Item ???? is this correct?? and Yes my AA's for SCR and SCRM are maxed on both characters...

Any way, has anyone else gotten the EE V Aug from DoN Merchant and only gotten a .30 second increase? or have I missed something in AA's? because for the expense of purchasing 250 radiant crystals or the effort of doing the DoN missions enough to get 250 RC's to get the EE V aug is DEFFINATLY NOT worth just .30 seconds of increase in buffs......

Any help or suggestions here would be greatly Apreciated..... THANK YOU in Advance...

All the "Extended Enhancement #" foci are all the same amount 15%, the numbers designate maximum level of spells they affect.

5: Limit: Effect(Invunerability excluded)
6: Limit: Min Duration(24.00 sec)

8: Limit: Combat Skills Not Allowed

Extended Enhancement V
Slot Description
1: Increase Spell Duration by 15%
2: Limit: Max Level(70) (lose 10% per level over cap)
3: Limit: Spell Type(Beneficial only)
4: Limit: Effect(Complete Heal (with duration) excluded)

==== EDIT ====
You might note, the 10% is 10% of 15%, so at 70 the IV will give 7.5% (15% * 50% = 10% * 5 Levels) extension. Since KEI is <= 65, you won't see a difference, but you should see a difference with Conviction, since it is 67. Of course the IV will give 12% for conviction, versus the 15% for the V. I did 20% off twice :D Fixed it now.

All focus effects named Extended Enhancement, from I to VI, do the same amount of extension which is 15%

The difference is in the level of spell it works up to. These focus effects now have "diminishing returns" when used for spells higher than their focus limit, losing 10% of its power for each level beyond the focus limit. If you cast a spell higher than the focus limit you lose 1.5% (10% of 15%) of the focus effect for every level above the focus limit that spell is.

EE IV works up to level 65 spells, giving 15% extension to base duration. Conviction is a level 67 spell so you would lose 10% of the focus per level above 65. The 15% extension becomes 12% because you lost 1.5% per level above 65.

FYI the duration of KEI and V and those length spells with max AA and full power Extended Enhancement focus is indeed 247.5 minutes. If you believe your buffs used to only be 247 minutes I can only assume you were not noticing the half minute before.

Basically you need to get a different focus effect to get longer buffs. Not one called Extended Enhancement. 8th Coldain Prayer Shawl has a 20% focus up to level 65 spells, beyond that you will probably need to get into Elemental or Time or Qvic or Anguish or like that for better focus.

I thank You both for the info, it sheds a lot of light on the subject, So in other words, I basicly wasted my time and plat on the EE V Aug, and could have used the crystals on something more benificial for my characters, by sticking with the EE IV Shield, lol oh well, live and learn, by the way, my enchanter is lvl 63 and cleric is lvl 70,

Again Thanks Loads for the information,

You've not wasted them. The Shield max extends up to level 65 spells, with a degenerating effect on spells 66 and up. The augs you bought will max extend up to level 70 spells, with a degenerating effect on buff spells 71 and up. I wouldn't call that wasted. Especially as when you get better foci, you can go back to the DoN merchant, sell back the augs to him and get back about 70% of the crystals you paid. Not a bad deal at all.

Use 'Tribute' for focus effects.

You free up valuable slots for superior equipment and Augments.

Yep, Reyla, Trib rules, but it also stacks with worn foci, so you can get an even better effect.

Tribute is the same as worn, so foci such as Extendended Enhancement (Persistent Boon Tribute) will not stack with worn items, just as if you had 2 items with Extended Enhancement on them, you only get the best one. I have no personal experience with Persistant Boon, but all the Tribute I have used work on this principal, including Haste, Attack, Regeneration, Mana Regeneration, Stat bonuses. They work just as if they were on an item.

Thus, Haste you only get the best, Attack, Regen, Mana Regen, and Stats all stack up to the worn cap or stat cap for stats.
