Ok, so in my freetime, I am working my Droods Epic 1.0. I am the point of needing to kill Venril sathir and I have a question. Does it matter which form of VS i get my stone from....the stattic spawn, the or the triggered? Would it be easier to get it from spawning him from the remains? I have asked in my guild and on the server but am getting many conflicting answers.

Also, any tips on taking him down quickly would be greatly appreciated. Getting a group together isnt a problem, but keeping them together when they not getting xp is a whole different story. So the quicker I do this part, the happier we will all be...

thanks

Hmm. As far as I know, the form of VS wouldn't matter, but I've only done this event a handful of times. Good luck, mate.

The triggered one would be much easier, and I honestly think only the triggered one drops the stones. I could be wrong, though.

The real one, hits for relatively low, but kicks (yes... kicks) for about 1300 a pop. He also has Deadly Lifetap, which is a 1500 hp tap. In other words... go for the triggered. He's much easier.

The standard one will NOT drop the stones you need. You only can get the stones after doing the turn-in to Venril Sather's Remains to pop the quest version of him.

Just finished my Wizzie 1.0 today. Been carrying around the stupid staff from VS for a LONG time!

You can only get the quest piece from the version of VS that spawns from Venril Sathirs Remains. The normal one doesnt drop the piece at all.

I'll back up what everyone is saying. ONLY the triggered version will drop the dru/rng epic piece.

Not to mention, the triggered version is much easier. The normal version has a high regen and lifetaps like crazy. My bst can tank WoS with relative ease and has been ripped to pieces by the normal VS.

As the others said, you need the triggered version.

Originally there was only the original VS, but with his respawn time and him being camped by guilds for the Kunark armor (he had the legs), they introduced VS remains, so that rangers and druids had a chance to do their epic. The remains drop always 2 stones, too.

The original VS has an AE lifetap for 1500 hp, so you can probably guess what a show he used to be...one proc and he was full from the raid again. There were some difficult tricks to get him down, involving a chain of tanks using a disc to avoid all hits (and therefore avoiding the proc), or the tank being chain-runed by chanters (same purpose).

The remains can be easily one-grouped, as they have only a single target lifetap (still 1500), and many high-levels can even solo them.
The usual version was this: a rogue (for the lock) went and pulled the ghost to the entrance and zoned to lose aggro. Then the group did the turn-ins (dont forget to bring the scroll and have someone to cast the spell), he changed and was killed. You can also fight him where he spawns, but then you need a way out (either rogue or a porter), because the access is one-way.
