Possible to block EULA and SOE intros?!Follow

#1 May 13 2007 at 6:22 AM Rating: Decent
Hey everyone. I'm wondering if it is possible to stop the Sony EULA and SOE welcome screens from popping up. I know in many other games these "splash" screens can be disabled. I hate having to load EQ and wait to click the damn EULA before I go get coffee or something to play. EQ takes long enough to load as it is..

So if anyone out there has thought of a way to maybe just skip these 2 screens and go straight to login lemme know:)

**I think clicking the EULA once is enough.. after the 1000th time it's obvious I agree...*

Of course not. The Eula is one of those "are you sure you agree? You were gone for a few seconds, do you still agree?" type of things. Couldn't let you get away with not telling them EVERY time that you won't hack their servers, right?

Well there has to be some way to "auto" agree to it. And it shouldn't be that hard to do.. Someone... anyone?!

It is not a splash screen.

It is the End User License Agreement and it is not possible to auto answer it.

My concerns about the eula is that we the ppl who make this game viable have no way of affecting it at all. As I see it, the eula is a contract; in business, a contract is an agreed upon negotiation between two or more parties that covers many things, including services rendered. I Know sony can say all they want about you agree to it when you run the game, but the fact of the matter is that they can change it to anything they want and we can't say boo other than to stop playing. They can insert any terms they want, and if you click on to play and don't realise it, however abysmal a business practice; the fact is that you agreed to it the moment you clicked on agree to play. That is why I don't repect the eula too much, it's completely a one sided thing.

Sony can say all they want that they own the intellectual rights, the data, etc... One staffer has had the gall to try to tell me that I don't own squat of my own characters. That is not the way I see it. I have spent a little over 7 k to play the game since I started my main acct in sept of 2k, a big part of that was comp time in cyber cafes, and the money I have spent in building the box I am using right now. As I see it, that gives me some say when it comes to my toons, regardless the legalese they want to sping it with. The way I see it, that is like trying to tell me I don't have the final say who is able to charge on my credit card; but that is another debate...

Wouldn't hacking the EULA be a violation of the EULA?

Oh my god, I just had a revelation!

But seriously, it's like two seconds out of your life. Deal. After you click Accept, just hit enter a few times, and you're at the login page.
