So, this is an update for me, and a thank you to all of you who have helped me. I started back up in EQ a week ago, and was able to bring up my necro from the demo server. Well she was brought over as a level 11. Since then I have gained 8 levels, just simply soloing. I'm playing about 3-5 hours every other day, and am rather enjoying this. All money issues aside, I'm spending them all on spells that I need, gathered with temp and Allure of Death, I am really enjoying killing 23-25 level mobs as if they are nothing.

I also love levelling a baby toon because you can successfully hit much higher con mobs at lower levels. When you get into 50s or so, it is much more challenging to fight higher con mobs.
I have a tough time with dark blue mobs now that I have passed 70.
But it is cool when you are able to figure out the strategy to take down the higher mobs solo.

You've not played a Necro. >250 AA on Yellow and Red con mobs at 70 at solo.
Unless dark blue is the new yellow con color?
To the OP, welcome to the dark side.
I routinely see Necros of 67+ soloing level 73-75 shissar herb tenders and shissar alchemists at the greehouse in katta and have joined in with them as extra pet upon occasion with my 75 rogue. Was actually surprised at the efficinecy they were able to do this with and not raid geared obviously at that level. Necros of 75 do even faster on those same mobs and the experience is great.

My main is a necro, and I love him. Tons to solo 65+, TSS expansion zones are a kiter's heaven. Necro's really start to shine at 60+, until then it can be hard for a young necro. Actually at 49ish you get your first good tank pet but really the pay-off for all your hard work will come 60+.
Keep plugging away at it and don't give up until you have experienced the power of a 60+ necro.... Take him to 65 and you wont be disappointed.

This is Sage advice.. the 50s are teh suck. You start trying to solo in PoP zones where stuff hits like a truck, using Kunark and Velious era spells.
Once you hit the PoP spells, things start to really get wild. Find a way!
50s = Trail of Tears
60s = Stairway to Heaven
My necro is 55, I get great exp soloing in Blackfeather Roost. I can kite the level 50-57 bears in the caves one or two at time and I usually do not even get adds if there is a pop as the bears do not assist each other, and the regular bears are not kos to me. You will ony get an add from the vicious mountain bear cause they are kos on everyone.
I would highly recommend this zone for 50-60, though stick to inside the caves on the entrance roost level, the open areas are very laggy and lag is not a kiters friend.
I am not leveling my necro right now, just grinding AAs as they are faster at lower levels now.
