Hi, I have a strange question... (not about gameplay)Follow

A friend of mine just bought the Anniversary Edition. In addition to the number used to register the software, there is another 11-digit code included. What is this code for? We can't seem to figure it out. Says valid with new accounts only. But we don't know where to enter it on the website station.com.

Complete guess here...

...perhaps it is for a promotion such as the usual free month of game time to new players?

Escape to Norrath wouldn't work for me either... it says "no credit card or subscription required" but the guy in the help chat said "enter yor credit card information to get the trial...".

The only number you would use to get the free trial, however, is a game card number apparently, and this is not a game card (we tried).

(As you can see I have no experience whatsoever with the game (but want to :D).)

In the collection, there is your own cd key that you enter in to register your account which gives you 30 days free. And the second one, if you took the time to read, clearly says give your friend a chance to join you. They can download EQ Evolutions, and play the game 30 days free as well.

Escape to Norrath requires no credit card, because it is just the demo server, there is nothing beyond that one zone.

I didn't see it, and he's not really communicating, that's why I asked you guys.

But then what is the purpose of having a code if you can access the trial without one?

I am sorry but he won't read it to me.

Demo server is one zone, The Mines of Gloomingdeep, the EverQuest Evolution is the full game with up to the third expansion I believe. That's the difference.

You could also look it up

I did that too, and after my original post finally found information on the fact that you are supposed to enter billing information for the regular free trial... even though it specifically says "no credit card or subscription required." I did not, however, find any information that said "EverQuest Anniversay Edition comes with a code for the following purpose...". Someone who owns the game would know. I also tried chats first, but no one in the chat room I frequent would pay for a game subscription.

He told me I can use it to play. But there are many different places to enter a code on station.com, and none of them had worked.

Does anyone know if it is possible to use both Escape to Norrath and then later use a key from another software if you have never had a paid subscription?

Ok, buy the Anniversary edition game. Then you enter in the code that is on a sticker above the disks, and then enter in your credit card information. One month or 30 days after the 30 day free subscription ends, you will be billed. But in those free 30 days, you have the full acess of the game until you cancel your account.

Your posts aren't clear at all, and are very confusing to decipher.

I don't see where mewgirl's posts are so hard to decipher Warchief, it seems you are being a little impatient with someone who is simply asking for some help with things. You've needed assistance with several questions of your own in this same forum lately, and to be honest some of your own topics were a bit confusing when it came to figuring out exactly what you were needing help with.

Remember, it's hard to be perfectly clear and concise when you are inquiring about something you are at least partially clueless about in the first place.

Thanks Saeel, and Warchief that's the part I had already figured out before I posted here mostly.

Sorry, I have been under stress with my work's promotion and my school's finals.

So what is it you need help with? If you want to play Escape to Norrath, you don't need a credit card, but if you want to play the regualr EQ, you can use the 30 days free with a new account, but you must put in a credit card.

Well the people there told me I need a credit card even for Escape to Norrath, and Sony messed up (is swearing allowed here?) and said I had a subscription when I never even used the account, then trying to tell me I need a credit card because they don't know what they're doing.

My original question was where on station.com you are supposed to enter the promo code. But right now that question is irrelevant because when I tried to enter it (in what was probably the wrong box, by the way) in my account that had been created the day before ad not used, it said "This number is only valid for new accounts," and when I tried to enter it it any random box again today, on a second account I had created, it said "This code has already been redeemed" (which it hadn't).

So I think the only question I have left which MIGHT be relevant at the moment if I can get customer service to cooperate, is "Does anyone know if it is possible to play EtN, and then after that ue the promo code to get 30 days in the real game?."

Log into the game, and click account, it'll bring you to a webpage where you enter in you log in, and then it should say something like update account code, or redeam keycode. That's where you should enter it in.

You DON'T need a credit card, for Escape to Norrath demo server. Do not, do not do not

Perhaps your friend had already entered the code from the box?? If so, you will need to get the acct info from your friend, not just the code/key. :-\
