Well, a shadownight out of all of them would be able to use the most gear from the paladin, and are fairly decent soloers if you know what you are doing. They are good tanks when well equipped, and although they are usually not guild main tanks, they can take on some tough content.

A cleric is more if you feel like sitting back for the low end game and just clicking a button every once in a while, but want to step it up in the high end game. It starts out easy, but ends up a VERY difficult class to play. Temp and other hp buffs are advantageous, and groups are fairly easy to find.

A bard is one of the most difficult classes to play correctly, but one of the most powerful if done right. They are excellent soloers, farm plat very quickly at the higher end, and are one of the best pullers in the game after you get fade.

It's mostly personal opinion, but all three are great classes.
The shadowknight, as you said, can't heal, but lifetaps can help recover a small amount of hp. Clerics aren't great at soloing, but are the most wanted out of all three for groups. Bards are the best soloers of the three, but the first 25 or so levels are difficult.

And mate, please try to work on punctuation and such, to make the message more readable. No offense meant.
Good luck with your new class.

I would also point out the giving up on the pally may not be what you want to do. Paladins can be difficult to play in the 30-50 game (especially with so few real players being at that range anymore), but once they start moving through the 50s and 60s they are very powerful, especially against undead or stunnable content.

SK is the most fun of the three to play, in my opinion. Bard is too intensive for me (chainclicking isnt my thing), and cleric too passive.

Depending on race, deity the clerc sk and bard all wear plate so your paladin armor would go far on any of them. Weapons?
Cleric is the most simple character to play and one of the most demanding to play well. Was joking in group the other night with a person who said he is used to doing other things when playing his cleric, like watching TV, doing laundry and boxing another character.

If you want to try something different try a shaman. Very versitile toon, can melee well, and in as much demand as a cleric in a lot of groups.

NOTE Jonwin posting as elne clare. She only plays druids and rangers. Well mostly.

Shadowknight/Paladin - Along with Paladins the SK is the best group MT. This may depend on your group setup but generally they are about the same. For raiding, the Paladin will have slightly more utility, with rezzes and cures, but the SK buffs up to a (marginally) higher AC. All tanks are very, very gear and AA dependant. Bear this in mind. Requires skill.

Cleric - Best healer and abjuration buffs in the game. Grouping is a yawn, possibly one of the most boring group classes to play, however when raiding this really changes being, imho, one of the funnest classes to raid with. Grouping is pretty easy once you get used to your tank (unless you have a static group) but raiding high end encounters will be pretty demanding and quite stressful, as you have alot of people depending on you.

Bard - Hard to play well, but when played well a Bard becomes a huge asset to your group or raid. With a metric tonne of utility and adding a significant amount of DPS to your group (mainly through there songs but there melee damage is nothing to be sneered at) the bard can be a lifesaver. Moderatly gear/AA dependant. If your boxing, I just leave him singing, hehe, but if you get a bad pull his AOE songs generate so much agro he usually goes splat...
