Screenshots not storedFollow

I keep hitting the default key to take a screenshot, then checking my EverQuest folder, and I'm not seeing anything that resembles a screenshot.

I even refresh the folder and check. Still nothing.

I tried. Doesn't work. Only the NUM - key works.
It shows "Taking a screenshot..." if it works, but they aren't showing up in the folder. :(

EDIT: It's working now. It added a Screenshots folder (though it says the pictures would be in the main directory) after adding ScreenshotType=jpg in eqclient.ini

Ok, my screenshots are missing too, but I am not sure from your description what you did to get them added. Could you please take a moment and explain it to someone who never goes into eqclient.

Thank you

If you're getting the Taking a screenshot ... message, then look into the everquest/SCREENSHOTS folder, where everquest is your main EQ directory, and SCREENSHOTS is the name of the folder in that directory. The files are no longer saved in the main EQ directory. They will have a name like EQ000001.BMP with the number going up from 1, and the extension may be something else like JPG, TGA, DDS, or PNG, but BMP is the default, unless you have changed it.

If you're not getting the message, then you need to go to the Options window (Alt+O) and on the keys tab, and find the entry for "Taking a screenshot" and see what it is set for (Numpad - as default) and/or set it, if it had been erased.

I also used to have this problem. You actually get the message that says EQ is saving a screenshot, but no screenshot gets saved.

Follow these steps to make the change:
1. Open C:\Program Files\Sony\Everquest\eqclient.ini in Notepad.
2. Hit CTRL-F or Edit Menu->Find and search for ScreenshotNumber.
3. Add "ScreenshotType=jpg" to the next line.

It doesn't really matter if you add ScreenshotType in that exact spot, but it does matter which "section" you add the line to, so putting it next to ScreenshotNumber is an easy way to know it's in an acceptible location.

Awesome, thank you all for your help. I will try that, and see if that does it.
