Tunat was killed by a raidforce of level 65's in PoP and GoD gear. IIRC Tunat wasn't killed until OoW and level 70 opened up. It's entirely possible I'm wrong though.

Anyway, congrats to RoI on the kill. Now instead of being 3 levels behind I have 8 levels to catch up before grinding aa's. :)

From memory Township Rebellion and Cestus Dei killed TMCV before OoW. I could be wrong though as there was a lot of fuss going on about the redesign of the encounter and I may have the timeline mixed up.

The difficulty of the encounter is not so much equipment related as it is getting the strategy right and people understanding it. Once its learned it is actually much easier than several other GoD encounters. We always found Zun`Muram Tkarish Zyk a much harder fight for example.

Cestus Dei completed Tacvi on 2005-01-15 (first guild worldwide)
Township Rebellion completed Tacvi on 2005-04-26 (23rd)

OoW was released on 2004-09-14

I'm sure at least some raid members were already lvl 70 when taking on Tunat; don't know if they were OoW-geared, though...

That makes sense, (surprised that TR were 23rd though). There was a lot of argey bargey going on about the design of the encounter and the eventual redesign, which I think was after the release of OoW, or around the same time.

Given the dates quoted I'm sure a few people would have had some bits of OoW stuff, maybe from the MPG trials, but very much doubt that there would have been any CoA equipment of significance.

A lot of our people were only 65 and wearing Time plus RCoD, RSS odds and ends, when we were working our way through GoD. Much of Txvu and Tacvi were major upgrades for us.
