I have a noob in the demo server saying that Druids are considered hybrid classes. Do you guys agree or disagree?
I say that they are pure.

This is not a dictionary definition, but I believe the term hybrid means the resulting mix of two or more things.
Hybrid car = gas and power cell
Hybrid EQ class = pure caster (priest or int caster) and melee class
I see no melee class in a druid. What a silly conclusion, it's a no-brainer really.

Maybe he was thinking of a Ranger. I know when I first started EQ I didn't know up from down either.

But unlike a hybrid, they can't do either one better than the other. Like a ranger is great with a bow, but is okay with spells, a paladin and shadow knight are good tankers, and beastlords are only as powerful as their pet.
I just can't place druids as a hybrid because they don't do one skill better than the other. They can't really tank to well, but they can, they can't heal too well, but they can fill in, in a pinch, their melee is par, and DD is where they do better in, and same with their buffs. I just don't see them as that/

I thought it was pretty clear from the EQ class descriptions (look in the creation screen).
Priests: Druid, Shaman, Cleric
Amongst these, the Cleric is the best healer, but the others are well equipped to do this. Druids are more useful for damage and Shaman are more useful for buffs/debuffs.
Melee: Warrior, Rogue, Berserker, Monk
Casters: Mage, Wizard, Enchanter, Necromancer
Classic Hybrids:
Shadow Knight (Warrior/Necro)
Paladin (Warrior/Cleric)
Ranger (Warrior/Druid)
Beastlord (Shaman/Monk/Mage?)
Bard (lots of stuff...Warr/Rogue/Enchanter maybe? with a little priest thrown in)

Everquest druids are a priest class, not a hybrid. They were one of the "root" classes combined with warriors to create the original three hybrid classes (druid/ranger, cleric/paladin, necromancer/shadowknight). They've always been addressed by Verant/SOE as a priest class for balancing/envisioning purposes and have never been included as a hybrid when that archtype was being revamped.
Eventually the class lines became blurrier as 'hybrids' evolved into their own unique classes rather than simply 75/25 warrior/other mixes but that doesn't really affect what druids are.

I don't know if I would call a Bard a Hybrid. I feel they are more like the jack of all trades.

I'm sorry... but you can't just learn -your- class in an MMO. If you don't know what the others do, you can't possibly make it that far. Maybe I'm just bitter 'cause I'm tired of stupid people in MMOs, but regardless...
