#1 Apr 17 2007 at 12:48 PM Rating: Decent
Hello Everyone, i hope you all enjoyed this years anneversary Events that took place once agian this year. Congradulations to everyone that succeeded in getting fabled items, fighting Fabled monsters, and altogether had a fun time during this years events. But sadly, they had to come to an end =(

But the stories and memories will not fade away (until next event, at least) so for the time being:

1. What fabled Did you like the most?

2. What fabled did you like the least?

3. What was the best fabled item you got?

4. Did you have an encounter with a tough fabled and succeed (or fail) ?

5. what did you or did you not like about this years fabled?

6. What are you looking forward to next year?

Feel free to leave your opinions, not just about this year, but any previous year =) Thanks

I know I'm being a grumpy old fart here, but I don't get the Fabled as an Anniversary event. If I were on the development team, I'd make it so there were always one or two fabled mobs up at any given moment - all year round, and all over EQ. Knowing mobs are part of a timed event just ruins the whole 'explore this amazing world' experience.

Not sure if it counts as A fabled but the fabled dragons in WW were an awful fun hunt.

Yes, the Fabled Lcea Katta, she got a good laugh at the Peoples of Doom that night.

As in other years the long camps, the ksing, etc. Whenever there are 'prizes' about there is a greedy competitiveness that springs forth in the population, people forget their manners...even among friends at times. There are people who feel jyped, ignored and perhaps ARE jyped and ignored. I dunno...I'm glad it's over.

Not being in Norrath. Smiley: grin

I like the anniversary celebration but I think I would like it to focus more on questing than mob-camping. The scavenger hunts are a lot of fun and despite the lame rewards many people do them. I could see some kind of similar quest as the scavenger hunts that might yeild a semi-unique item like a title, a special dye to use on a piece of armor, or something of that sort. (My Druid would like to tie-dye her tunic!)

I really enjoyed the fabled this year, too much even! I had no commitments all month so spent every day almost trying for them. I even got my first EQ injury from it! I missed the last two days of fabled because I had gotten a tailbone area infection from all the hrs spent sitting! It is not a fun thing to go through.

I wish they would leave them up all year, and just add new ones at the anniversary time. Then there would not be this mad race to beat the clock. Some of the camps are horrible, ie the fire idol, while other camps are even worse, ie Zevfeer in TM. I camped the fabled Zevffer and the Fable Goldren for about 5 days , and never ever seen one pop. If they are going to but a month time limit on these at least they could refrain from making some of them ultra rare! I bet I could count on one hand the number of people who got a Zevfeer aug on my server and that is just sad.... like its the developers revenge on us eq players.

Best part about the Fables is they bring life back to old & unused zones. Anything, ie hotzones, that brings us back to the old world is a good thing and should be a permanent part of the game.

Most of the camps were fine , and alot of fun. Looking forward to next year : )

Our guild raid got trained by a considerably more high-end guild then us as we were massing at the beginning of the zone. That is the first time that has happened since that ding dong chanter from Vantage tried training us back in the days of POP raids Smiley: oyvey. It was rather amusing simply from the standpoint that I haven't seen something like that in so many years (and by a guild that shouldn't feel even remotely threatened by us).

In past years, I have usually really enjoyed the Fabled events. But I didn't have as much time as usual to camp for the drops. And maybe that is a good thing since all I heard was what a nightmare some of the camps were for the more popular augments.

I am not a fan of making them year-round, but I do think that the camps where you typically had to spend 3 hours or less to guarantee yourself a drop from the mob was part of the attraction (Kunark comes to mind as being great for these camps). The 10+ hour camp stories (and still no drop) are pretty ridiculous when they are soloable/duable mobs that a fair number of people want.

Well I didnt pick up any of this years fabled, I did get the fabled skull earring for the cleric, he just happened to be in the zone helping my bl get it and two of the fabled mobs were up at once. Courtin also decided to get the Fabled jboots to save money on sow potions. But sow is faster so.... maybe not.

Worst experience? Fabled Sontalak. Nightwatch alliance tried him twice. Failed both times. I had survived the two mini wipes but was killed when COurtin went back into zone to help rezz some folks.
Also lasted about 4 hits in Grey while Shaman was there not hunting fabled but the shissar blood.
