My friend wants to start EQ and seems interested in either starting a mage or an enchanter. I do not want him to get discouraged and quit, so which of these classes, neither of which i have played, would be easiest for him to learn the game with?
Research
The Mage is pet orriented and has weaker nukes than the wizzy.
Enchanter is a very tough class because of crowd control, I would not recommend, so Mage.

I also would recommend the mage. pretty straightforward class.
plus, with those poweful pets, farming items you want to sell in baz for PP is so much easier.

Definately a Mage, Enchanters are very weak early on, and can be difficult to play well. Mages pretty much start out from day one able to solo a lot.
from what you guys have said, i think i might start a mage just to try out as well :)
Definately stay away from enc, even thought they are a great class and fun to play. Maybe istead of mage have your friend try necro , they are alot of fun whether grouped, duo'ed or solo : ) But I'm biased because I box chanter & necro , plus some hehe
