I assume you're referring to the ability to play EQ in Windowed mode?
Sorry you weren't all that clear there
EQ will now run in windowed mode on it's own, without the use of any other programs. Alt+Tab task-switching works, the whole bit.
The option is in-game ... Alt+O -> Display Tab.

or just google wineq2.
wineq2 tends to work a little better than just normal EQ windowed mode, and uses a LOT less system resources.

what annoys me about windowed mode is that i usually get a size failure which closes all EQ applications

Change your Gamma. Sometimes running two windows of EQ will leave me with funky brightness until I touch the gamma bar. I don't have to set it to something different, just moving it up then back down fixes the brightness.
I used to have the same problem with trying to go to windowed mode in that it would crash the game. I had to recently get a new video card and I can not get into windowed mode, but I can't change the size of the window. Is this normal or am I still bugged?

No that's normal because the setting you have for your GUI is set. You have your 800X600 to like 1920X1280 or something, I don't think that you can resize the window. I'm going to use the recommended above, and beacuse of a Linux crash yesterday while installing on my HDD I'm going to have to reinstall the game.
