Has anyone else been having problems with the #general channel? I dont have it set to join, but for some reason it puts me in the general chat. Im stuck in it too, because its not a numbered channel it wont let me leave it. I try to rejoin it so i can remove it, but it says i cant enter what im already in. Its annoying the hell out of me too, listening to the people cry and whine in general is the reason i dont join it. It only does this to a few of my chars and not all of them, either way it makes me want to cry. I see nothing but spam, yet i cant talk in it, so i have to listen to the most annoying chat in the world.... it isnt just me that has this problem, many people i have talked to have this prob, just wondering if anyone here figure out how the hell to get out of the damn room.
Some sort of bugginess with the universal chat...I've had it happen before with General chat, and have had it do the same with a different channel within the last week. Hopefully it'll get fixed soon.

You can leave a chat channel by using the name of the channel.
Type /leave General, and you will leave the channel
Type /leave General, and you will leave the channel
That is the issue the OP is talking about though...after /leaving the channel the bug will still cause you to catch the talk from said channel, except it will then be listing as #(channel name)...and in my experience it defaults to the main chat window as well.
If you haven't already, you might try /autojoin <channel:pasword> and even make up one. I do this on all my toons. I haven't seen that sort of problem myself, and that maybe why. If you need to have more channels can separate with commas and no spaces, the channel names and/or passwords.
I'm not sure this help your particular problem, but it may. I haven't had any problems with channels other than being down alot using the /autojoin and have general / class / zone channels all off. I only manually join them and very rarely.
It sounds very annoying. I generally can't stand any of the general or zone channels :( Hope it gets fixed for you quickly.

have autojoin set for my guild channel for some years. Dunno what its problem is, hopefully it doesnt laugh, cause my server is nothing but morons in general chat. and you cant avoid it, had to listen to it for 25 minutes between two people about plat farming. I had to log off cause i cant remove it lol. i sent them both tells and said the shut the f up, i cant avoid the channel like others
Did you try turning off /autojoin general in your options menu? Alt O to the options and its in there even using /leave that option will keep you autojoined i think.
well, if it annoys you, try /ignore. works wonders on Povar (Olgaf, do you hear? :-P )

lol i would hae to put every person in the channel on ignore. but omg, its funny you mentioned olgaf. on prexus, he used to annoy the hell out of us, not one person could stand him. my guild leader asked him if his hepatisus cleared up yet, just to try to **** him off. of course it didnt work, but aye, when he left the server, we were all seriously partying for a a week.

OMG Olgaf, is he in povar now? He was chased off Luclin. everyone hates him and they still talk about him.
did you try to
1 - create a new chat window
2 - set filter to general chat
3 - minimize window?
maybe that helps?
P.S.: as to Olgaf, how do you chase an eejit like him off yer server?
