I voted for Iksar, love the look. Frog's are good two, a have a few of those. The Drakkin are not to appealing to me, but because of the dragon breath aa I made 2 of them. Out of all my chars, over 16, not one is Kitty... it not that I don't like them, its just that there were/are so many out there. When picking races I try to stray from the 'norm'.

Iksar easily win, they kick butt!
Vah shir are ok i guess.
Frogs are clumsy oafs that have a hunchback.
Drakkin just plain look stupid! Not only that their stupid breath weapon pulls every monster in front of regardless of if their elevation is different!

I voted Iksar. I still love my Warrior's early levels. My first guild was also an all Iksar group. A lot of fun.

I voted Frogloks as my favorite.

Iksar are cooler but frogs are still my favorite.

Hissing, tail lashing and the creepiest sounding Voice tells make iksars cooler, but Guktans earned the right to be a playable race.

Twice the frogloks have ousted the trolls from their own cities. They only got Grobb back with the help of the dark elves and orcs. Lazy trolls.

Iksar. Verant made them when Verant still owned the game, and they gave a rat's @$$. SOE moved in, and it's all about moving the 'product.' ~F~ the lore and all - just get them all out there ASAP. Sell, Sell, Sell.

Iksar, for sure.

Maybe it's that old school nostalgia, but I think the Iksar were the tops and it's not even close for me. The models at the time were amazing. Their introduction was well thought out and they were hard to play in the old world, being more evil than evil.

The Vah Shir are cat people, just the first grab at the young, sexually confused anime crowd. Frogloks are ugly as sin but make up for it in my book for their flip casting, lol. Drakkins? Good god, are we playing Maple Story now? Hasn't the anime crowd clearly left for the cartoony pastures of WoW already? Yeah the animations are fluid and the detail is high, but it's only mediocre for it's time and a step in the 13 yr old beating it to cartoons step that scares me.

Also, the brief period that Iksar didn't start with Common (may have only been on test when they were starting it there) was amazing, all off their speech came through in sss's.

I voted Froglok as my favorite. Its true they don't have the lore iksar do and frankly I would love to delve into some, but their unique and quirky animations make playing one interesting.
Iksar come in a close second only because to me they all look alike :( I know its not important to many people but in general I like unique looks. It is true though thay Iksar have THE best lore in the game that I have ever come across and still get lost today in Kunark zones when I come across soem obscure item about their lore.
Vah'shir look alright but I could never really get into them (so far) though the newbie zones and the citizenship quests are an interesting way to start :).
Drakkin I just don't like, like most other people I was looking for the half dragon or at least more dragon looking than they are. The breath weapon was a good concept but I've noticed that while SoE put a range on the distance and width of the breath weapon, somewhere they forgot to put in a limiter on the vertical range...after aggroing every mob in The Hole that was below the floor I was fighting on I decided Drakkin really weren't for me :)

As some people stated earlier I would love to see an insectoid race, being an old D&D player I loved playing a thri-kreen monk :) lol

Prior to TSS, I would have said Vah Shir. My main is a Vah Shir and I have never regretted it. Vah Shir DO have background lore which reveals itself as you talk to NPCs in Shar Vahl and do Quests in that area. However the Drakkin have great culture and lore, amazing looks, and the breath weapon. In many ways they are so diverse and fun to play I have 4 Drakkin alts, each a different color.

I'm a cat person. I liked the way they were portrayed. Could have been better, but was good enough.

My next favorite was the Drakkin. they were not done so well, but they were different enough and looked nifty in their weird way. They looked like they might fit in with Luclin expansion, which was my favorite expansion (SoV with a close second).

Cats nibble on frogs & lizards... what can I say. =/

Iksar have better innate racial skills and bonuses than the rest in spite of having worse faction.

Well, it appears I'm one of the minority... I like the Drakkin because they have a lot of cool background lore (like the Iksar others mentioned), a cool body-art look, and a breath weapon like their forebears...

I was born a minority, I'm used to it. Smiley: lol

Drakkin. Don't like cats (in real life or in games), don't like lizards (though their lore is/was nice. GTFO Shissar!), don't like frogs. Drakkin, despite their goofy walk/run animations, were well done in my view. They look unique (without being a talking animal), they have unique abilities, and they're still in touch with their parents/creators.

After halflings, frogloks are the most abominable race in Norrath.

Iksar, while evil scumbags, are at least honorable.

I love all the races. Froglok/Guktan is my favorite, because their unique, and I love their designs and stats. Iksar is a very close second.

Vah Shir for me, no contest. I played a kitty shaman most of my eq career. I'm not playing at the moment, but I do have the urge to reinstall it one of these days.

I voted Iksar for many of the reasons listed above Great lore, look awesome, great starting city and newbie zones, in-depth "Iksar Epics", etc..

My second favorite is the Drakkin. Not because of their breath weapon or tattoos or lore, but because they have the detail that I hope my Iksar gets in one of the next few expansions. Individual digits ftw!

Don't care enough about vah shir or frogs to rate them.

Now, I'd like to bring up for those who think the Drakkin are "half dragon" or some sort of crossbreed, they aren't. Drakkin are humans who are infused with dragon magic in a ritual that converts their already developed human body into a scaly version with perpetual morning breath. This ritual also wipes their memories of their previous life as you can learn by talking to some of the Drakkin in Crescent Reach. Some of them make mention to their previous lives and not knowing what exactly they were.

If I'm off on a detail or 2 regarding that, I blame insomnia. Been up for 22 hours now and finally getting tired.

Anyways, yes. Iksar. May they receive new bodies (read: more savage) and get a remake of their old lizardly swim animation. (would love to see them swimming like a lizard again, but more random than just an up-down cycle. Think the Godzilla movie with the stadium full of eggs. The way Godzilla swam. *nods*)
