New Human Models.....Follow

#1 Apr 05 2007 at 11:58 AM Rating: Decent
While i do not like the New Human Models personally speaking I understand that some will take a shine to them. However, as an account holder who prefers to play the human race i would simply ask that some provision be made for those of us who wish to continue using the Older Models before they go to the Production servers.... Pls post reply's and let me know if you agree.

Absolutely... if given the option to not use the new models I most definately would. My humand bard , ranger & druid are my coolest looking chars! If it isn't too late , soe pls scrap the new models for humans. I have not heard one person say they liked them better than the old models... I bet not one post comes on here in favor of the new models.

I got a peek at those models early this morning when the servers were took down...

...thumbs down, sadly...

...first off the ghostly, undead looking eyes jump out at you and look 100% unnatural. And yeah, they have too much of a Drakkin feel to them for some reason. I believe from a distance I wouldnt be able to tell the difference unless I spotted the drakkin tattoos.

I could care less what they do with models. I edited my eqclient.ini and set all luclin models to off. I did this after the red stick figure models fiasco when I saw the amazing improvement in reduced lag.

I have very little lag now and everything runs faster during raids. I even enjoy the nostalgic male ogre models with the spikey helms and the behind scratching.

When the new models come out, will the old models be the Luclin models or the pre-Luclins? My computer is set to the old models for most toons becasue it lags me out so much. Wonder if we will still have the option for the oldest models.

I was curious and found images of the new models here:

There are comments by Absor indicating when these go live, there will no longer be older models available... in other words, this is what you get, no options.

AbsorEQ " I can promise that it's very unlikely that old models will remain when the new ones are put in."

I'm not even going to comment on this kind of attitude from EQ developers, it is just too typical. I will say that being no fan of most of the luclin character models, these don't seem any worse. I feel players identify with what they are accustomed to looking at. If you prefer the luclin (or pre-luclin) models you should have the option of keeping them. To force something like this on a player base is just wrong. If they had forced luclin models on me back in the day, it would have just pushed me a little faster out the door.

What the....? Those are Drakkins! Pale, dead-looking Drakkins without the scales or horns.

Uhhhh Drakkins are half human, half dragon. Take off the dragon scales and horns and you have GASP! OMFG!111! A Human!

Why not spend time on flying mounts or something fun instead of redoing humans to look undead?
