EQPLAYERS BOYCOTFollow

#1 Mar 29 2007 at 8:30 AM Rating: Decent
Dear members of the Everquest Family,

Most Notably paying members of EQPLAYERS
PLease Join me in a COMPLETE and TOTAL BOYCOTT of EQplayers MAny of us have signed up for and paid for this service the we would use to help our friends guildmates and ourselves keep track of our progression is some form, BUT from it's very inception this service has been bugged in one way or another and until a few days ago this service was totally unuseable as no updates had been issued manually or on auto update since March 5th 2007 ( there was copy paste error so please bear with the repetive stuff coming up)

Auto updates and manual updates alike not working, items not being recognized leaving profiles inaccurate, completely blank profiles, miscalculated AA's and skills/spells! SOE charges us 2.99 a month for full access to this service but yet fail to keep it in any semblence of a working order (must be treated like old in game quests... noit gonna fix it no way , not worth the time) the only way to make them truly take notice that we are getting tired of throwing our hard earned cash into a dying fire is to Stop doing so and DIScontinue payment for services not up to quality, Would you pay a painter contracted to paint your entire house for only painting half of it... THAT IS WHAT SOE IS DOING NOW
36 dollars a year per paid subscription doesn't seem like much but look at it this way
$36x 10,000= $360,000..... makes a real nice salary for someone huh how about if yu were an investor and lost your share of that cash Would you Notice and want to know why?
PLEASE CANCEL your EQPLAYERS SERVICE ASAP and help join this BOYCOTT
I know there are ppl that are going to flame me and board Admins that will "punish" me for this POST but spread the word on your server, in your guilds, amongst your friends LETS hit SOE back for once it's been our wallets now lets get theirs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First, why would I even begin to trust a 1 post person with a stupid name like yours?

Second, I never bought the EQPlayers premium because its SOE, and you never buy something they offer right away.

What really gets me about this whole EQPlayers thing is that Magelo has been doing it with minimal problems for how long now?

SOE can't seem to get it right even though it's their own freaking servers that they are collecting the data from.

Kinda makes me thing SOE threw together some half assed program to try and make a profit from Magelos idea and never bothered to give it a second glance. The problems EQPlayers were having when I left were the same exact problems they were having at release.

Seems like the ONLY thing SOE can get right is the billing and god forbid they ***** that up...

They have screwed up billing before, it was last year during the aniversary. A lot of people bought the aniversary cheap year subscription they had 2 years ago and when it was up it cancelled a lot of the accounts that bought it that way.

Heh, yea I remember that now. Ok, the only time they screwed up is when they were cutting prices. They just didn't want to give people a deal anymore. Smiley: grin

The original post sort of made sense: EQPlayers sucks and if folk want it changed the best way to do it is to boycott.

Then I read Mrwookies' post and realized that having a stupid sounding name totally changes the contents AND the context of the post.
Whew, almost had me fooled there Slice.

Slice, your name is so stupid, I could feel my I.Q. dropping. (btw where's dice?)
Luckily enough, I quickly read Mrwookies' very brilliant sounding name 3 or 4 times and could feel the intelligence flowing back in.
If this keeps up, by tomorrow I may be smart enough to post and chew gum at the same time, although there are doubters >.<

Rate up for you if I could. Excellent use of sarcasm (though the last sentence was laying it on a bit to thick) Smiley: bowdown.

Yes, you are right, I shouldn't knock someone because of their posting name. Especially since I used a college nickname as mine 5 years ago when I joined this site.

A boycott can work if their is strong enough support. But another rant about SOE is so old news here, I just file it with all of Singdall's ridiculous postings, and move on. The idea that 10k users will actually read his post, and boycott because of it, seems a little far fetched.

Fact: I canceled all five of my EQ accounts Jan 31, 2006.

Fact: People were calling for an EQPlayers boycott BACK THEN. For the SAME REASONS.

Ergo: EQPlayers is an awful joke.

They *still* can't match the results of their own in game formulas with their own in game data? BWAHAHAHA

Check out WoW's EQplayers: http://armory.worldofwarcraft.com/#character-sheet.xml?r=Kirin+Tor&n=Celadora

It actually works and has 100% of characters and guilds because when people started whining for "opt outs".. Blizzard told them to pound sand.

This poll could reveal that overwhelmingly, those EQ players that also peruse this forum, don't subscribe to EQ Players.

Discriminating bunch here.Smiley: wink

Your first fact is the best way to get SOE's attention. Unfortunately, they can't seem to understand that the deceasing monthly fees are due to their crappy service/attitudes and instead blame it on everyone except themselves.

Personally, I always felt that EQPlayers was SOE's answer to Magelo and EQrankings. Just like their EQ Atlas book was the answer to The Muses' awesome website. And just like they did a half *** job with the atlas, they made a half *** attempt at stealing Magelo's idea. I made the mistake of buying SOE's Atlas book, and I learned my lesson that time. So, I never really checked out EQPlayers, and instead have stuck with magelo.

I may not like WoW, but I give credit to Blizzard for really listening to their customers and making every effort to making the best product. Its a shame they would never buy EQ from SOE.

Now that you mention it some guy did start ranting about hating eqplayers around that time.

I never subscribed to EQPlayers because I didn't see how it would enhance my game play. I'm glad I didn't. So in a way, I guess I've been boycotting it since it's inception. IN! Smiley: tongue

How so? If you actually used this to study opponents your in for an awful surprise when you realize thier weapons are not really fishing grubs and a backpack.

I myself find it fairly close to who they are ,AAs weapons and gear ,is what I look at and yes not allways correct,But 7 outta 10 times it is if they update ,most folks very proud of what they have so they update a lot,I dont anymore since thats how I use EQplayers,I havent updated in 3 months i still show OLD stats my Saves are way above where EQplayers shows me.
#21 Mar 31 2007 at 9:08 PM Rating: Decent
EQplayers sucks, not even close to being accurate. I bought it for one month, for one account and for the life of me I can't figure out how they can't do a better job than magelo. They have all the data and information available and it's still so screwed up that's it's not even remotely usable. Anyone who pays for EQplayers is a sucker!
#22 Apr 01 2007 at 9:16 PM Rating: Decent
More of the same ongoing arrogance that has lead eq to where it is today. Honestly I think the phrase "paid beta" is the best way to describe my entire history with SOE.

Ive been away for close to 2 months and if I remember right you HAVE to update it your self ,they dont auto update ,so yes its not allways correct.
So if you dont update your charector, its not Sony's fault that the profiles are not accurate, they are kept by ourselves,is why i choose not to update my charector,I dont like to display my gear ,AAs or keys ,If you want know ask or LOL geta cleric come play with me when I get EQ back in a few weeks and calculate my HPs and inspect my gear.
#24 Apr 02 2007 at 5:01 AM Rating: Default
After about two weeks of spamming their tech support, I finally got all my information straight. Now my spells and AA's show up properly, everything else seems to be correct also.

Moral of the story? Keep at it, never give up, whine, whine, whine.

C ya! /wave
