Nerfed grouping?Follow

I wanted to point out that the other night in PoNightmare i was helping a lvl 55 necro get some kwik aa's. The exp was flying by with me 75 bard and the necro killing the grey mobs to bard. When unexpectedly the exp just stopped, the necro was getting the experience message yet was not reciecing the said exp. So i took necro to GE hopeing it was a zone bug, and low and behold the same thing was happening with killing grey mobs to the lvl 75 toon. In ge i tried all sorts of stuff to figure out what the hell was going on and brought a green mob to lvl 75 and the 55 necro did get exp (a tiny tiny amount) for that mob. This has never happened before and i wanna know what gives. Did soe nerf that without telling anyone?

Ok, may be a dumb question, but were you guys grouped? I have always found that when grouped with that much of a level difference, the lower one never gets exp unless it also gives exp to the higher character.

Although, if you were getting exp at first, I guess that is the weird part. MAybe, that was the bug Smiley: motz

AAXP is kind of based off the highest lvl group member now. Therefore if you are killing green mobs to the lvl 75 toon, it is the same as the lvl 55 toon killing green mobs as well (even though the mobs may con yellow to the lvl 55).

When have these changes taken place? And do they only affect AA Exp?

This changed when they revamped the AA system....i think around the time TSS came out.

Cool, this means that in future, I will only go for regular exp when grouping with high level characters.

Correct. Like jrmayii mentioned, they changed this back around the time of TSS. Basically, you never want to go for AAXP if you are the lower level character (my rule of thumb is 10+ levels, but that is personal preference). There is no problem if the higher level is on AAXP.
