Need connection helpFollow

I am currently in Edinburgh Scotland on a 3 week business trip and the only reliable internet access I have is through an open wireless conection at a pub (EQ and Beer FTW!) close to where I am staying. I can surf the internet fine, access email, etc but I cannot connect to EQ through the connection. (as a side note I can't connect to my company VPN from here either) I assume some port is being blocked. Any of you tech gurus (I was one 10 years ago but not any more) have any ideas I can try to connect? I'd really like to be able to play with my family on Saturday.
