#1 Mar 23 2007 at 3:36 PM Rating: Good
My current group consist of a 58 warrior, 58 sk, 58 cleric, 54 enc, 53 wiz. I was hopeing on some advice of where we should go to lvl and get some decent loot me and my friend that play these toons have just come back from a 3 year eq break. We currently have the warrior and sk in ldon gear with augs both around the 5500 hp and 1300 ac and over 100resists in most catagories range the other toons have most of there spells and ok gear. Any suggestions would be appriciated. also we have all expansions with the exception of the last 3.

thanks Dammaff

Griegs End. Its a hotspot now (meaning you get bonus xp for killing there). Should be perfect for you. Just be prepared to have a lot of people there with you due to the fact it is currently a hotspot. Good luck.

Loot in Grieg's is ok, but I don't think that there will be anything better than the gear you're already wearing at lvl 58. Nevertheless, it's the place to go for exp at the moment.

You could also try the inner part of Chardok, as it's a hot zone too.

GE is a not too bad spot really. the gear below drops there (you should be able to handle most of the mobs with your goup).

LDoN will still give you some exp and help upgrade items, but I would suggest looking to DON for gear upgrades. Your group is just about ready to tackle the faction missions.
I would also use TSS level zones for your group as well.

If you don't have it yet, you should think of getting it. TSS is one of the best expansions IMO and offers zones, equipment and quests for all levels.

Might try Cazic Thule with that group too. Start at the entrance, easy zone if you get in trouble. Loot is not spectacular, weapons drop are merchant fodder for 19pp and some gems, sunshard pebbles etc. There is a nice hot-zone aug +40HP iirc from changelings that drops.

We were there with a trio (62, 62, 56) and were able to quickly move down some tunnels. Down below are some nameds that drop some decent wearables. It is a bit tricky and challenging to move in, but your group is probably good enough.

Grieg's End and CT would both be good choices.

Also, you may want to look into the DON expansion. The Broodlands & T. Delve should be good experience zones for you, plus they have a number of decent loot drops in each zone.

When you are high enough, talk to the Wayfarer's Brotherhood and start doing missions for them so you can raise your faction. DoN merchants are somewhat like LDON, where you purchase them with a special currency (radiant crystals) that are tradeable. You can also upgrade your augments through them. The difference is that you need faction with them first, before they will talk to you. If you have a steady group, DON missions would be great for you to do, once you are high enough levels (sorry, don't know offhand how high you have to be to start doing missions for the Wayfarers).

In about 2 weeks, EQ issues a new compilation pack to retail stores with every expansion including TBS. It will cost about $19.99. If you can swing that upgrade for each account between the two of you, I highly recomend the TSS zones designed for those levels - Goru`kar Mesa and Blackfeather Roost. The zones have tons of quests which add nice flavor and pacing to the game besides jsut grinding mobs.

The quested gear is a great upgrade for those level ranges. My necro is 56 and beneifits from having a large bank account to leach off of my main a 75 rogue, but even so, a few of those gear drops are better than anything I could buy in bazaar, and the quests are not that hard.

Examples of such from my necro:

Bone Twisted Cloth Sleeves
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: ARMS
AC: 6
DEX: +6 STA: +6 INT: +6 HP: +30 MANA: +35
SV DISEASE: +6 SV COLD: +4
Regeneration: +3 Mana Regeneration: +1
Required level of 45.
WT: 1.0 Size: MEDIUM
Class: NEC

Bone Twisted Cloth Robe

MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: CHEST
AC: 9
STA: +8 INT: +8 AGI: +8 HP: +45 MANA: +45
SV DISEASE: +4 SV COLD: +4 SV POISON: +4
Regeneration: +2 Mana Regeneration: +3
Required level of 45.
WT: 3.0 Size: LARGE
Class: NEC

Bone Twisted Cloth Sandals
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: FEET
AC: 5
STR: +6 DEX: +6 AGI: +6 HP: +35 MANA: +40
SV MAGIC: +6 SV POISON: +4
Mana Regeneration: +2
Required level of 45.
WT: 0.8 Size: MEDIUM
Class: NEC

Bone Twisted Cloth Cap
MAGIC ITEM LORE ITEM NO TRADE
Slot: HEAD
AC: 6
DEX: +6 CHA: +6 INT: +6 HP: +30 MANA: +35
SV FIRE: +4 SV COLD: +6
Required level of 45.
Focus: Spell Haste III
WT: 1.2 Size: MEDIUM
Class: NEC

The stats on other class gear are similiar, and the mana regen, HP regen and focus effects are the same. For the toons listed, all except warrior would benefit from the quested armor for the same slots. There is also an improved healing FE on another slot that would benifit the cleric. For the warrior the Masters Armor plus Symbol Aug for that armor, would have better AC/hp, and would be available in BAZ. If you do not want to buy the expansions, the Masters Armor plus Symbol Augs is the way to go for gear for each toon. You would want to hunt in the zones where the ingredients drop and find someone to make it for you. The cost can get expensive for those levels in bazaar if you want to buy a whole set. I would check in the bazaar though first, as sometimes people make the armor for skillups and sell it for almost nothing. (not the symbols though)

I just didnt read carefully enough about not having tss.
THe monster missions would drop some nice stuff as well. Check the sticky.
My shaman wanted to get the arms from stonebrunt at 61 but the four missions she went on all dropped the mask. (
I also forgot about CT. I was the 63 cleric not 62 like dot said. Unless he was there with two others. )

Thank you everyone for the well thought out answers we are going to exp farm ge and cazic till we can start doing one of the expansions at 65. If anyone knows of good armor quest in the 60s we could that info would be great i was looking and it looks like omens was the best for that... we should be 60 by the weekend.
