OK.. yall.. just a heads up. Hope this is a short-term bug and all.. buut. just soos you knows..

If you have a trader, you will log in today and have no prices for any items. The game appears to have changed accessing prices in the C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\BZR_CharName_Server.ini from names to item numbers.

Plan on spending some time getting this information back, if you have a mule like I do.. with 78 items for sale.. and an ungodly number in the bank. (Unless you are praying they patch the patch..)I am going to keep Notepad open with the ini file and <Alt Tab> between the game and the file to get the prices back for what I have now.

They aren't fixing it
"MESSAGE OF THE DAY: Greetings! With the latest update all vendor prices have been reset. You will need to set new prices on your items to allow the system to save them again. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause."

While there is always a lot of unnecessary whining on these boards, this time I am really irritated. I woke up early in order to get the patch downloaded and the firewall reset (always a pain after a patch) while trying to get ready for work (Asian time zone here so the patch came in overnight). Once I finally got my poor little trader up, his prices were of course wiped.

A note from SOE in advance that this was a possibility would have been appreciated, I could have written the current set prices down. I had to leave my trader for the next 12-15 hours with only a few items ready for sale as some of the word/rune/spell prices will need to be recalculated. It has taken months to get them to what I think are fair, marketable rates and now I like everyone else will--have to spend a lot of time resetting these.

I predict mayhem as prices fluctuate unnecessarily over the next few days, a distraction from already limited play time. A resellers dream perhaps but irritating none the less!

You do still have prices copied, they are still in your old trader file.
Unfortunately that format is not the current format for the bzr_ui file.

It should still be able to be easily deciphered.

This is a real pain in the aSs. I have nearly a thousand items on those ini files on two traders. I do not have that much time to play, and very much enjoyed, that while I was not able to play, I was successful at buying and selling in the bazaar to keep my rogue well equipped. Now I have re-enter near 200 prices for the stuff I am currently selling and every time I put a new item up, which is nearly every day, I have to look up the price on my ini file and enter it again so it registers in the new location and I can sell again. Even if I am very efficient and can enter in 2 prices a minute, which is not likely given the time to minimize EQ, search the ini file for the price, maximize EQ and enter and save the price, then I can enter in 120 prices an hour. To put both traders back up with just the items on them will take more than an hour and a half. I should not have to spend that time doing this, I would rather do things with my characters.

Plus every time I add new items I have to repeat this process. This will end up costing me many hours of time that I could otherwise be doing something productive in game.

Might help to just print your bazaar file. Save you time alt tabbing, plus you can cross off items as you update = less things to look through.
