I'm getting a laptop and it has for the video card Intel Graphics Media Accelerater 900, 64-128 interal (UMA) shared graphics memory.

I ask because I know the games old, but the processor worries me. That it might not run EQ. And the processor is a Centrion M processor 1.6GHz.

My wife's laptop has very similar specs, and its runs EQ just fine. Slow zone times, but otherwise I have no problems.

Alright, yeah I mean, I was thinking it should because it's EQ. How are the server populations on like Stromm? That's where my BST was last parked. Yet, I might do the progression server and just re-roll again.I gotta upgrade ram as well eventuall 512 isn't enough.

Video card would be the only choke point. It still might be ok.

If the graphics card is indeed shared like you said, that extra ram you mentioned getting would be a pretty big help.

One thing i noticed is that EQ is very dependant on your bandwidth. The more packets SOE can get to the comp the better the game runs. The computer is only there for the graphics and you can always turn them down to make it run better.

Edit
oh yeah the ram definatly RAM to handle the packets.

Is 512 enough? I'll eventualy be buying a one gig ram stick.

From everything I've been told and noticed on my own, the upgrade from having 512 to having 1 gig is the quickest, easiest, and most effective way of getting more zip out of your computer for EQ.

I would imagine if you went much higher than 1 to 1.5 gigs of ram in your laptop, the return on performance would drop significantly, for what you were putting into it.

Trust me I know, if there was a cheap way to buy ram with my pay checks, but I understand I need to upgrade my ram.

You should just buy another 512mb stick of ram. 2 of those is pretty much the same as 1gb. Plays EQ fine for me.
