Is there a way to get this skill to move? If so What's the best method to get it up quickly? After years of playing a druid and chanter decided to start a rouge and need advice on this.

Make a hotkey and include it in it. In combo with Backstab, Intimidate, Beg or any number of ther skills is always good, to get skill ups in multiples with one key. If in a group, it is generally considerate to let group know you are Pick Pocketing, and not to loot, or be Main Looter and split with them at end. It used to require putting a training point into it, but I think, now, you get 1 point when you reach 7th level now automatically. Either way, make sure you got at least 1 point into it, or you won't skill up.

For all sorts of Rogue specific information, try http://www.thesafehouse.org/

Also, if you choose to add Intimidate, be aware that if it's successful, the mob will run in fear.

In my list of hot keys is one named Pickpocket.
I do the following.
/attack off
/doability # ( my pickpocket)
/doablity # (my hide)
/autoattack on
This will lower your aggro (you have ducked away from combat) as well as picking the mobs pocket in combat.
An alternative is to find a grey mob that wont aggro you and just mash your pickpocket ability key as fast as it refreshes.

Go to PoT using th POK/POT stone. On the table there is a big book that you can pick. DO it as fast as you can and you can max your skill in 30 minutes or so.

Thanks for the input guys and gals. I have tried the attack off method to no avail. Then trained it to 20 still nothing. I think this might be because the mobs had no cash only items on them, not sure though.
I have heard about the book in pot but I didn't know you could work pick pocket skill on it as well as pick locks. Will try it when I get to lvl 46. As for pick locks, the second door on the right at the jade inn in Crescent Reach has me maxed at current lvl and I hear it is good till about skill 180 or so.
Going to sleep now, Thanks again for the help)).

There are several hot-key setups rogues should have in their bag-o-tricks for skillups in the various skullduggery arts.

To max out 'sense trap, 'disarm trap' passively you can place these keys on an active hot-bar and tie them to movement. There are some spam messages associated with doing this, but it is not that much of a bother. You will get a red-colored message for not being able to use disarm trap, but it still works for skillups.

To actively get skillups for disarm trap you can go to Sol A and find any of the swinging blades or falling rock traps and click on them. Key is to get the blade or rock 'stuck' in sight, and rapidly clicky to get your skillups. If the trap is disarmed out of sight, you need to wait until it resets.

Best spot for lock picking is the book in the Plane of Tranquility zone-in from PoK, but you can also click on the Hole entrance or Paineel entrance (lockpicks on cursor). Those places are good to skill 200+ at least.

Every rogue should have an 'evade' hotkey in order to help lose aggro.
/attack off
/doability (# for Hide)
/attack on
*You will get the message 'Soandso has ducked away from combat' or 'Soandso has failed to duck away from combat'. Either way it will reduce aggro. This bit ONLY works for rogues as far as I know. (Sorry Rangers, SKs etc.)

You can also have the same setup for pick pockets:
/attack off
/doability (# for pick pockets)
/autoinventory (clear your cursor)
/attack on

Just remember not to hit your macros for pick pockets or evade while targeting a red con NPC...

Other stuff:

You can work Intimidation on far off NPCs, PCs or even corpses.

You can get Disarm skillups on grey-con mobs. They must be brandishing a weapon though.

In the beginning you can link Sneak to a movement key. It can get herky-jerky once sneak starts engaging more often than not :)

Safe Fall can be trained in PoK. Get a SoW and run up one the stairs of a trainer building and jump off the balcony. You can also get skillups jumping off the deck from the small (wood) bank. My favorite place is for Safe Fall the gorge in East Karana though.

My safefall was worked on by jumping off the bridges in POK.
For the OP it takes lots of attempts at times to see a skill up in pp.
Just be patient, make a hot key and use it over and over and over. I use mine at least twice a combat. My rogue also soloed a lot so I didnt have to worry about spliting mobs. Any mob can raise pp skill just be careful, they can aggro on you even if they con friendly. It may help you to get a dex and agility buff as well.

I thought they stopped this skill up?

I recall doing Intimidation on boats/corpses many years ago and thought Sony had fixed this bug?
