Thu: Logged in right after the patch (and SOE was in time, yay!). My friends and I went to Chardok, and we did very well (mobs were mostly light blue and dark blue, with some yellow cons inbetween). Got some insignia drops for the Ogre Cultural Master Book, the Necro got the hot zone augment and the Druid a nice chestpiece. And then, after 1,5 hours of having a blast, we had a full group wipe due to LOTS of adds. Smiley: bah

My friends left afterwards, and I did a lot of bank cleaning and tradeskilling - got my main's smithing from 67 to 133.

Fri: Some shopping, nothing special IRL. One of my screenshots (Don't you sit on my table!!) was chosen screenshot of the day! Smiley: grin

Sat: Deleted the baby cleric to have a free character slot. Sold everything on him except for the no trade stuff, went to the King's room in Kaladim and logged out. Everybody should be at home when it's time to go.

Sun: We went to see Apassionata, but I was rather disappointed... nobody should treat animals like this.

Thursday: Really Sick, Played CS and slept all day

Friday: Still sick, slept most of the day, started a Human Necro on The Combine, enjoyed myself, worked.

Sat: Slept, Spent the evening with my girlfriend.

Sun: Played some EQ when I got home from midnight shift, slept, played some more eq all night. The Combine Progression server is actually pretty good. I kind of like it more than Maelin. I've grouped more times in the past 3 days than I did in a month on modern Maelin.

Friday night went to our old town for dinner with some friends and had to then grocery shop there, I think, because my husband misses his old familiar grocery store. It was nearly midnight when we got home and I logged in. I immediatly got hit up by a Wizzy buddy to check for the Broken Golem in PoFear. He was up. We got a group together and took him out with ease. He a wimp.

Saturday...I don't recall much EQ

Sunday logged in for guild raid found out I'd won 100k in a guild contest. Smiley: grin.

Don't wanna talk about the raid; maybe in another thread I will.

Sunday night I promised to track down and help a warrior pal with a mob in Hates Fury. We were just finishing that up when a Lord and Lady GM started broadcasting a little tiff that ended in a Battle of the Sexes match in the arena.

With promises of custom titles for the winners and peer pressure from some guildies I reluctantly entered this event. It was a blast. About 50 people participated with the final registration tally being heavy on the boys side. We had to take three males on our side to make the number even.

The girl toons totally PWNED the boy toons. It was pretty interesting. We were given one minute to buff. The ladies were still buffing when the "Charge" orders were given. We continued to buff, while the boys spent some few seconds charging across the arena to slay the, now fully buffed, lovelies. Nearly the whole fight took place in the girls side.

I think only about 3 girl toons had died when the last remaining boypunk was slaughterd.

The reward for the defeat was merely a +7 Charisma aug. The custom titles were not given out because there were too many toons left standing when the battle finished.

So...the reward was a let down, but the event was pretty fun. It was chaos. Seems the girls tended to group up more and were relentless once a target was chosen. I should have been dead when root and snare were resisted, but the yellow can Paly that was pounding on me just ran off after I healed myself??? I had to change my target to heal my groupies and lost track of the paly. I pretty much stayed on healer duty after that. I found it hard to identify and target the enemy as my auto-target doesn't work on toons.

The whole event proved little as there's really never been any dispute over who the superior sex is. Smiley: wink

No EQ for me all weekend. Spent all my "gaming moments" in the LOTRO stress test, since it was my first chance to try the game out. Gameplay is very similar to WoW, and its a very solo friendly game. Graphics are absolutely beautiful. Had a blast, will definetly preorder it so I can start out in open beta and get the founder's subscription pricing. I don't know if it will take me away from EQ permanently, but I suspect I will put my 2 EQ accounts on hiatus for awhile after March 30.

Nice post Elinda except how many of the female toons had males behind them? Sound tactical move to get fully buffed and let the enemy come to you.

Thursday Logged on ranger and was helping kill in skyfire looking for fragments for a cleric. When there were four of us on a suggestion was made to all group. I mentioned that Courtin the Cleric was ready for his final fight for epic 1.0 and all agreed! With two more folks adding, it was 67 warrior Fortis, 71 mage Laeanya (spelling? sorry mandie) Dotsferu the druid, and Courtin at 63. Added another mage and bard group and the mage was also boxing a cleric. (I was nervous bout doing the fight with only 4 of us.) It turned out to be relatively easy. The dragon was DB to me at 63 and with vet reward max saves and stats I was only hit once by the aoe. Fight lasted about 4 min. On the way through so ro Fortis stumbled across the AC! Another quick kill and roll had cleric with the rights to the ring but he let the mage from the epic fight, who was along for the ride, take it instead.
Almost drowned in the ocean on way to hand in. Was in the tunnel and moving soooo slowly. Didnt realize I had run into a rock and been put into duck mode. Tried to cast spell and saw the "You have to be standing..." message and unducked. Broke the surface just in before air ran out. Courtin now has his water sprinkler! The first of my toons to get his epic. Shaman should be next!
Friday spent a few hours continuing to run Winjon the paladin around TSS zones. Doing the tasks. Friday night spent aboard the ship, doing an overnight visit with a group from a local high school.
Saturday did a bus tour of Baltimore with a charter school from Brooklyn NY. Got home and was so tired I barely was able to move the ranger from Skyfire to POK.
Sunday Started ranger in doing the Tss tasks. Ship closed early to visitors and spent 2 hours shoveling snow off spar deck. Came home and Logged on rogue in Griegs to duo with guildmate. We died on a pop just as she was about to log with 18 percent health. I got the mob down to 8 percent when a final series of stuns did me in.
Got a sow, ran back to griegs and did sneak/hide drag just like in the old days!
Joined the group that gave me a rezz for an hour or so dinged 47. Logged for dinner, then ran ranger around moors until I dinged 46.
Today more running around with ranger in Moors. Also logged on Jonwin in early am. Killed haddon but no earring. Moved some items around in bank.

I was occupied with RL but managed to get a couple solid sessions in on Saturday and Sunday. Earned out my veteran awards quad kiting swabbies and pirates in Timorous Deep (I am overdue for my next veteran award--I wish they'd hurry!). Found and solo killed the Froglok Watcher in Old Sebilis and looted Sebilite Leather Wraps--a small downgrade on some stats but the Improved Damage IV will be a great help when I hit 61 (60.75 now but am concentrating on AAs but only earned two this weekend).
I got a couple more steps done in the Chowderly Quest but failed when making the tuna dish using shissar eggs. Deep depression as the shissar have been too nasty for me to solo so I have relied on generous groups in the Temple. However, since I haven't died recently and have a vet rez to spare, I thought I would give it another try using a modification on my past technique. Success! I managed to kill almost ten of the things without dying (came VERY close any number of times). Found that Moonfire (name? 60 Druid spell) hits more frequently than Wildfire as the fire-based spells are sometimes resisted. Also, created a better key combination for targetting myself with heal spells while getting pounded. And, found the best distance to stand away from the beastie so as to keep fighting without getting summoned. Still, this combination forced me to heal myself 3-4 times per kill and left me with very little mana to spell. Revenge is sweet though after all the times the snakes have killed me. Got some scales, a warsword, and two eggs (one more to go).
All and all, a short but successful weekend.
