Getting around in TBSFollow

#1 Feb 18 2007 at 2:48 PM Rating: Good
I'm turning myself in. I'm hopeless and helpless. ETC.

How do you get from island to island in TBS?

I have the ticket(s). I went to the pier. I talked to the Dockmaster.

Just wait for the boat?? I thought that plan died out with my grandfather.

How about.. does anybody know about how often the boat comes?

That way I can estimate how much time to waste staring at the screen with nothing happening.

((I love pure time sinks))

buy the correct ticket wait for boat and get on. It will take you to the correct zone. I did not time it boats are every 2 to 5 min is my guess.

Thanks.

So 30 minutes with no boat is ...

a) a bug
b) who knows
c) typical SOE
d) all of the above

Yeah 30 min and no boat is all of the above most likely.

Boats were coming every 5 mins or so, no problem for me, I was doing a couple of explore quests and repeating, while I had spare time admidst supervising some painting at home.

I suspect either its a bug on your server alone or, or the boats have been coming and your computer is not showing them due to a glitch on the computer or files or something.

Or perhaps you are standing on wrong dock, there is one in Barren coast (north one?) that might not have ships land on it.

Also the zones: Blacksail Folly, Deadbone Reef, Jardel's Hook, Maiden's Grave, Monkey Rock, Redfeather Isle and Suncrest Isle are all subzones with The Buried Sea. You can swim, run/levi or take the small self piloting boats ( just like Ocean of Tears Boats but bigger and easier to use) to them from the landing point in Buried Sea. Mobs will tend not to follow you from one sub zone to another, you usually lose aggro about half way to the next island. Though swimming will not be fast enough to escape the mobs, you would need to run/levi over water or be on a boat. And while run/levi from an island mob you might get aggro from an out at sea mob, which are rare, and they may stay aggro'd until you are near shore of an island.
