Old Question (But new for me)Follow

I was wondering if there is a trick to the posting (in game) of items in game. It seems that there are some postings that show items that people are looking for, but have a link to the graphical information. Is there a way to format a post (to: ooc, tell, guild, etc...) that identifies a certain item without actually having it?

It seems that work has gotten the best of me in the past several years. So, I hope that someone can clue me into this way of seeing items. I know how to post items that I already have, but hope to find the way to post the ones I need..

One way is to use the /buyer command in the bazaar to search for and link to items. Not all items appear on buyer, but most droppable ones do and if you are on the FV server most items in the game can be found on there.

If you want to link the stats of an item in chat, or group , or whatever, first do your /g, /ooc or however you want to post. Then right click on the item you want to link, hold right mouse button down while moveing the cursor over that window, then left click on the picture of the item that is in the item description box. The description, along with stats, etc will then be in your chat window, hit enter and it will go to wherever you have directed your chat, say or whatever.

I believe he may be asking about the cross-server link function. Links to items not in possession and not readily available to link using the standard method. I forgot the exact command but it goes something like ;tell tunare.tinkking !link <partial or full item name> Then, you recieve a tell with links to items matching your query.

He wants to know how to create a link to an item he does not possess.

1. You can shout for somebody to link the item. Then click on the link to open up the info window. Then proceed as if you had the item.

2. Pretty much what Addikeys said. Go to the bazaar and do /buyer. In the lower left corner (i think) is a search section. Just enter part of the name and search. The left side will fill up with all the items it finds in it's db. You can then click on the name in the list to open the info window. Then proceed as if you had the item.

Wanted to add that this is only good for a short term WTB posting. It is possible to create a macro so you don't have to hunt down the link every time you log in. Read this post

It's actually about creating a INC message, but it involves saving the item number out of the link so you can use it in a macro.
