Hi al I am completely new to EQ, I did try the escape to Norath trial for a few days. My question is this,am I waisting my time trying to play this game? I only have EQ classic and the Planes of Power Expansion currently. Is it even likely I will find people to group with on a completely new character with these compontents? Thanks for any responses. :)
If all you have is Classic and PoP (although I think Kunark is a free download these days), I'd start on one of the "Progression" servers (Sleeper & Combine). They only have the expansions opened up to Gates of Discord so you might feel less "behind the times". I recently started a character there and found that you can usually find folks in the "hot zones" who'll group with you and most are forgiving of you being lightly geared since there's not as much of a twinking culture on the servers.
Not that I'm against twinking per se, but it's nice to know that you're all wearing pretty iffy armor.

Great thank you for the prompt reply. I will look into Kunark being a free download.
I think I'm wrong on the Kunark thing. The online store still has it for $9.99 and I couldn't find a patch message to that effect. Don't ask me where I'm remembering it from...

Just find the Titanium edition, that's what I got. It has all expansions except the most recent 3. It was $20 at Bestbuy.
