There has been little opposition since I have covered and debunked almost every problem people believe it will cause.

I have to say the first disappointment I had with the Progression servers was when they updated the graphics. PRoblem with Progression was everybody felt like they was in a race to level and beat raid bosses so they could be first. The hardcore players pretty much ruined the Progression servers for me (and apparently alot of other people). In any case your right the Progression servers was not classic eq.

I would start the game again if they did make a classic server though. Id like to see them make a classic server and MAYBE every 6 to 8 months open up another expansion. I don't want to see no revamped zones, no revamped loot with rec levels, and no new quests. Don't want to see Berserker trainers that can't even be used yet either. Id like to see them try to make it more casual friendly then hardcore. Im sure there would still be that bunch of people who would be lvl 50 in 2 weeks. However they would tire out soon when they was lvl 50 and had nothing else to do but farm plat.

It would really be easy to do. I mean the original game is sitting on the eq classic cd's. They would just have to build a server based off of one of those. I know if I have one laying around then you know SOE has them. I am also sure SOe has every single update saved somewhere (at least one would think). In fact there are people who emulate eq classic with the eqemulator, however it is far from classic eq when there is never more then 10 people on the whole server.

I helped kill Ixiblat last night for an ally-guild's cleric. I went to fear for a very brief time, before we wiped and called it. Then we headed to the arena in Kael for some good ol' giant slaughtering, and I lost the roll on some silk sleaves.

Honestly, I feel like the current progression servers are what you make of them. I've found a group of like-minded folks who want to relive the content many of us missed or just wanted to again, and we're all just proceeding at our own pace. As long as you're not contstantly comparing yourself to those folks in the hardcore segment you're not going to care that their gear is better. I don't really care what they're doing period, because I'm in content that they are way beyond, so we're not even needing to compete with them for it.

I can understand why you'd want to have a "classic" server, but it just seems to me that the player-base on the progression servers is already full of folks motivated to relive those days gone by; you just have to find them.

Best of luck, though!
