I was trying to get a lvl 28 Rogue Dwarf alt into the Wayfarers Brotherhood and kept getting a brush off from the NPC's who usually start you off. They kept telling me to "...seek out someone closer to home." But I was in my home city of Kaladim! I even tried CR and was told the same thing. Anyone else having this problem? If anyone else is I will send in a bug report. Not that it will do any good. With a new expansion coming out who cares about bugs?

you need to get a preflag from an npc in your hometown before the guy at the wayfarer camp will talk to you. You have to ask him all the promts that the guy in the camp will later ask you. even if you know the answers you still have to ask the npc in the hometown for all the questions.

If you have made your toon since TSS came out then your hometown is not Kaladim, try Crescent Reach, as this is where everyone's hometown is since the latest release.

You probably even have a Crescent Reach guild summons scroll in your bank.

Anyway this is the way it is with my new Vah Shir Shammy.

If the person in your hometown won't talk to you to start the quest, try going to the gypsy camp in Rathe Mountains or the SE corner of West Karana. These are alternate places for those who have been banished from their hometowns.

Good luck!

There is also a bug they are working on for toons b4 tSS that never got their adv stones.

They thought they fixed it when the expansion came out.

Same deal with my halfing druid. He has been on the roll since 2004 but i never played him much. When i decided to do so, i went to get his stone and the dude in rivervale wont talk to me. So i went to rathe mtns, and the guy there laughed at me and spit in my face. ( no not really, but he wouldnt talk to me either)

It really is a bug and this last patch did not fix it. Any character that did not get their stone before the last expansion came out is screwed until the bug is fixed.

Bummer.

From what I understand you can still do LDoN's without your stone, you just can't use the magus for travel (I'm guessing though, that's what people get their stones for these days??).

They might have fixed this now.

I just got the Adventurer's Stone for an erudite enchanter and a wood elf druid. Both were created before Lanys T'vyl and The Seventh Hammer merged. They had no problems talking to the folks in their hometowns and were able to get the stone.

The funny thing is that the wood elf is on my hubby's account. I got her the stone so she could go to Abysmal to get port spells. When I got to Nedaria's Landing, I could not get to Abysmal. It kept telling me that the zone was not ready at this time and ported me to the other side of Nedaria's. Turned out that my hubby never bought Gates and she couldn't go to that zone anyway.

The erudite had no problems at all.

Did you have the bug before? Otherwise its just another toon that does not have the bug.

I just got my Half Elf Rogue's stone on the Tunare server today. I didn't recieve any message upon zoning in, but all I had to do was Find the guy in my city and hail him. Then I went from there.

Who is it you hail? I have a human SK and technically I started in Gloomingdeep. But does that still mean I go to Freeport? I am not sure who I am supposed to talk to, any ideas?

Can't you get to Nedaria's Landing quite easily through Jaggedpine Forest ?
#16 Feb 01 2007 at 3:59 PM Rating: Decent
Try hailing Miocaei Herlsas in East Freeport(-1480, +625, at the back of the Pit) and if that doeant work hail Genniau Noghce (-150, -425) in West Freeport. If it does work then you will recieve a message. If anyone you hail is the inncorect persen then you will recieve a message along the line of "I cant help you, try somewhere closer to home"

Here is a link the the page with all the information..........

Hope this helps and good luck

Did you try both Halthar Mowestone (+470, -90) in North Kaladim and Kennelia Gwieal (+90, +245) in South Kaladim?

I dinged 15 last night on my SK and was able to complete the pre-flag dialogue in Paineel. I haven't made my way to a camp yet to actually get my stone.
