Hey guys.

I'm looking for a new MMORPG to play after playing FFXI for several years. I already made a post on EQ2 forums to find out how the community is like. So I'm also checking out EQ1.

so please help me out w/ my questions^^

1. Hows the community? Will there be enough people to help me out?

2. How many people still play? This game is ancient but you guys are still loyal and that makes me see it as one helluva game.

So please help me decide! and its not about the graphics of the game. its about the game play and how many people are willing to make your time online fun/enjoyable.

You need to decide. You can get two-weeks or a month free somewhere, likely from Sony. Maybe someone around here knows how to get the free trial??..or if you wanna try out EQ2 also, just get the station pass for a month or two. It's only 5 bucks more than a single game subscription I think and will give access to both games.

Try um out for a bit and decide. (We're all pretty much EQ fanboi's here, eh, EQ is better than EQ2 Smiley: wink)

Sorry, not sure on populations as they're not puplished. It's a constant source of discussion around here though.

People to help you out? Depends on what you're looking for. There are very few "true" newbs in the game, but lots of people still raise up toons. So, it may be difficult to find people to group with at low levels, it won't be impossible.

The game is pretty easy at the start though, and you really shouldn't need a ton of help. As far as getting questions and inquiries answered in game, there are tons of people that will be happy to answer you questions, though you'll likely get some snide "newbie" remarks thrown in.

If I had to guess I'd say at normal gaming times there are a 1000-1500 people on average per server. I may be way off the mark. The thing is, all those people are spread amongst tens, maybe hundreds of zones and across the content of 10 expansions.
