City of Mist. Fantastic atmosphere and lore. Lots of good memories there too.
#3 Jan 05 2007 at 4:24 PM Rating: Decent
Bad Freakin' ***** Plenty of good times there mate. And trying to put a group together was hell cause noone was keyed. And then death... and trying to get the bodies out to zone in. and zoning in... nekkid...

I'll go with CoM is great too. Seriously- all those zones are a hoot. Why do we refer to them as "Dungeons" though when only a few are actual dungeons.

Sebilis. Easily Sebilis.

Great lore and history with the Sebilisian Empire and Trakanon, the dungeon is friggin' massive and the camps are classic. Much like Lower Guk in Classic EQ, Sebilis was the gold standard for teamwork and crowd control but great rewards back in the day.

Howling Stones.

Peace and quite, lots of undead (I'm a Necromancer!) and decent drops, for it's time.

LoL I was the first to vote for Kaesora. I guess I choose it beacaue it was the first dungeon that I ever cleared all the way and me and my group of 4 friends spent days there all alone having a blast.

Plus the fact that first step of the side was crazy and with no real way out but the hard way of fightin' out.

Have to admit that I haven't been to all zones listed, but of the ones I've been to, I had to vote for Old Seb. At the time when I was in my 50s, I found it to be a good challenge, either in group, or douing with a buddy. Loot was decent to good (always made pp off of nodding blue lilies), and it was fairly easy to get a group. The only drawback was the run to the zone; after a while I dreaded the run through EJ and Trakanon's Teeth.

Man, Kunark dungeons are easily the best. I had to vote Veksar, though Sebilis was long my favorite.

I loved old sebelis. In my opinion it is one of the best dungeons in any MMO.

Okay, my favorite zone is Karnors Castle; oh the trains!

Back in the day, when Kunark was first released (mmm... FV in bondage on the box art), my level 20-something rogue was sneaking around the Dreadlands. So there I was, minding my own business, when this 'spider-thingy' spots me, and now I'm running for my life (bound in Everfrost so going to be a hell of a CR). Then I spot this zone line in the middle of the zone; safety! Ha, ha, beat you with 15% health left, you stupid arachnid! I managed to see about 5 seconds of the new zone before I see the 'zoning please wait'. I think I had about 5 neekid corpses before I finally looted my stuff. I swore then and there I would own that zone!

Hard to make a decision.....

Veksar and Old Seb both were/are nice.

So love Howling Stones. My level 56 cleric is still working on Aa's there.

The fact that you have to go through each wing each time to get keys makes for awesome fun each time. ( unless you are a Rogue, then you bypass all that) Smiley: grin

CoM got my vote even though its not a dungeon at all its a city and its even outdoors (As in SoW works etc.).
#19 Jan 07 2007 at 1:18 AM Rating: Decent
As a rogue, CoM with the locked door was always a moment for me to shine. I'd regularly get tells from random people who needed the door opened and corpses dragged.
#20 Jan 07 2007 at 7:28 AM Rating: Decent
Kaesora.

It always tested the limits of our group (not in fighting, but in cooperating... never once did we try invising to drop down past the spiders, until I did it and went on ahead without the rest of my group... needless to say, we wiped many many many times there at the hands of 10+ spiders). I also remember a higher level guildie coming in and wiping the fabled Xalgoz... and me almost getting eaten on Enrage (before I knew what it was).

Edited for correct punctuation.

I loved sitting at the entrance of Karnor's and attempt to derail the trains just to see if we could lol. CoM was awesome too; spent alot of time in there workin on my Spear of Fate(so ubah!). Howling Stones was just evil! haha. I loved how no1 ever went there really unless they had to . . Kunark was just awesome, the lore, the zones; it all kicked butt. Scaled Mystics forever!!

I have only been to Chardok, Crypt of Dalnir, Kurn's Tower, Old Sebilis and Veksar yet; My vote goes to Veksar, as it's not as narrow as some of the others.
#24 Jan 08 2007 at 3:07 AM Rating: Decent
CoM will always be a favourite but as Kurns was where I learnt the fun of EQ and on bad days I still shroud down and go kill skellies to make me feel better.

ALL the Kunark zones were fun, I have ancient pics of my little guild wiping in Dalnir and at the Mushrooms in Seb after the 27th add and repops were starting, the bone field we made of Kaesoras basement, standing room only in KC as my chanter and group broke a 15 mob train (flex), everyone's favorite raid the nobles in Chardok, heck I even liked Chardok B and Veksar when they came out as they kind of had the feel of the other Kunark zones. I leveled 4 toons through Kurns before anyone even heard of Luclin. Nurga and Droga were a great challenge rarely camped, but were vital for that dam wrist/arm/belt. With the revamp it was again a challenge since they matched the gear that was current at the time. And the Xp farming at the entrance of KC was every bit as good as the camps lol. Seb, Charsis, ye gods the memories! Hands down, Kunark is my favorite expansion. The most challenging as far as teamwork and CC, and since there were no maps thus forcing memorization it made each run a bit of a mystery. "hey, a secret door! thats new! what do you think is in.. argh! EVAC EVAC!" I still love ToFS(despite the run), Ssra (despite the farming), and Velks cause its Velks, but hands down favorite zones are Kaesora, Seb, Howling Stones, Chardok, and KC. I still push my toons through all my old favorites.
Take heed Devs! 1 big brute mob after another easily pulled is not as challenging or as fun as several little ones with tricks up their sleeves.
Mystery is good. Surprises rock. Farming sucks :)

Kaesora, the one way drop down along with all the undead roaming clerics makes it a super fun crawl.
