EQZoneViewer lets you view any EQ zone, minus the mobs. (aka just lets you look at the geometry.) it's nice for being able to look at zones you probably won't get to.
apparently this is technically an EULA violation, a friend just asked kyth. solike, if you use it, don't go HI I USE EQZONEVIEWER in front of lydrea, because she's mad at the world and will ban you.

No, I'm sorry this would not be appropriate, it is indeed an EULA violation.
Didn't Sony include a version of the EQ Zone Viewer when they released trilogy way back when? I seem to remember something similar to that... they had the tutorial, at the very least (some random zone where you kill a wolf)... but I swore they had the zone viewer in there, too.
I don't think so unless someone hacked the old tutorial so it could load other zonemaps. I think that the old tutorial (the one where you start out by hailing a dwarf) was offline but it's been a long, long time.
It should not violate any EULA since it doesn't do anything to online part. All it does is let you look at the zones from any angle, no mobs or players. If Sony says otherwise, they are being morons since they'd have a hard time proving the standard version of zone viewer is indeed a cheat or hack that can alter the *online* gaming experience.
EQ Zone Viewer is a bit old and doesn't work on newer zone files from OoW and on (I think GoD zones as well) but you may have the original tutorial zone. If so, check out the tombstones. =)
Also check out the Plane of War, it was originally included but dropped at the last minute because they couldn't resolve all the issues and just got lazy.
I miss the offline tutorial =p but it didn't come with zoneviewing stuffs.

I disagree with sony on a lot of EULA points, heh.
Just because something is in a EULA doesn't mean it is the law. U.S. laws supersede anything in that Eula. Biggest joke is how SOE claims there is no refunds period on gametime. There are plenty of ways around that. IF they do something to the game that makes it unplayable for you then they can't keep your money.
Anyways back on topic, that program is neat. I think the eqemulator is a better tool for scouting zones though.
