ok i play on zek and i know no one really cares..but anyone else think the damage shield potions make it imposible for a melee class to pvp before level 50??

i mean shure i can switch to my Tantors tusk and hit for 200 at lvl 45, but still, and what about rogues?? they have no option...

only thing to do is spam annul magic and hope you get the DS pot..

o well just my rant

if you are a pure-melee class you should always be grouped with a hybrid or caster so they can debuff their ds, if you are fighting bard ds you are screwed unless you can stun him/her.

Ok, so dire you obviously do not play on Zek Smiley: oyvey

The thing to do, and what has been the rule for melee's since the early days of Vallon Zek, was to have ( oh man it is laate, I am drawing a blank on the name Smiley: banghead )the annunal magic stone. I play a 51 warrior, and I have used it at all levels.

Also, the tusk, with the proper jousting, will do the most damage in pvp. But the most imprtant thing for a warrior is to have your resists as high as you can. Warriors are dead meat against a druid or necro unless the resists are way up. Actually, we ( warriors) tend to struggle in pvp anyway. Smiley: motz

Hope that in some way answered your question/rant. If not, my apologizes.

tbh theres not much chance of any pure melee against a similarly equiped druid in pvp (at high end at least - and if the druid has the rigth spells) as the only way for the melee to kill the druid is to hit it, and with the whole array of druid DS's (self ds, single target ds, barkspur and the "spirit of" line) in thier ******* they can keep the damage going as long as the melee is hitting them.

if the druid has skin of reptile he doesnt have to heal himself (as much) because the melee hitting him will do that for him (reptile for those who dont know, procs a 600 hp heal when hit, 1200 with crit heals) the only danger for a druid would be running out of mana, but that would be fairly difficult to do if said druid knows what they are doing.

and yes you can dispell with the right clickies, but an insta click item is all the druid needs to combat that and the basic DS's at least cost little mana if the melee does manage to dispell.

saying all that it is very hard to land any spell on anyone with good resists and if the melee simply backs off they could possibly force a long drawn out draw (depending on who got bored first =p )

That is very true, at high levels it is more a case of keeping the battle going, as opposed to winning it outright, for a melee. If you can keep it going, sometimes you can win just through lack of Druid mana, especially if you can keep the spells from landing.

I once had a fight, my 55 beastlord vs. a 57 paladin, that went for nearly ten minutes. We both were poppin heal pots, shieldspikes, and pumice stones to cancel the spikes. It was alot of fun, but finally his virtue faded ( we both had been expin) and I got him.

Love pvp, but it has taken something to adjust to the new things that the game adds for pve.( which is the majority of the game.)Maybe that is why I stay with this game, cause it keeps evolving and i have to keep adjusting tactics. Smiley: grin
