Picked up 52 levels and 142 AAs on my Mage, got keyed for several old world zones, finished several long-term quests and all my low-level pet foci, managed to finally secure enough LDoN points to get my pet focus, learned good agro management while soloing duoing or grouping, and (briefly) broke 75k
Picked up 22 levels (give or take) and 6 AAs on my Ranger, got my fletching from 0 to 246 (and probably more by morning), finally managed to put together enough LDoN missions to buy a spell I'll probably never cast again, since I have Run3, now.
Made an Ikky monk to throw money and gear at, got him keyed for The Hole, solo'd him to 51 and got my first two AAs.
Took my Cleric into The Hole the easy way, bound him at the top for easy "oopsie!" recovery when helping friends and guildies farm gems or exp.
Learned the ins and outs of a Bazaar vendor.
Learned that I make a decent tank after all as my warrior, and that the reason I kept losing agro was that the ranger I group with was spamming Taunt.
For the first time ever, bought "the newest expansion" while it was still the newest expansion, and took advantage of several things it had to offer.
Sac'd my baby druid to make an SK, and learned the joys of PBAoE breath weapons for farming grays and faction.
Put my beastlord into all plate gear and let him rot.
And to swincoop, who said "The developers now cater to the uber guilds and leave the rest of us out," I have to say that I used to feel the same way. TSS looks to be an excellent expansion for the solo/duo/box/group player, and from what I hear is pathetic in terms of raiding. I haven't bothered with PoR, yet, but I've come to some realizations...
First is that there is an enormous wealth of content already there that few players even bother to tap into, designed for levels 1 through 50. Yes, it would be nice to see a little more of it every expansion, but once you're stuck under that glass celing, there's nothing new for you to do. I've met players that can't gain experience anymore - or couldn't until TSS came out. Not regular exp, not AA exp, not leadership exp, not raid leadership.
For people that have already been to every zone at one point or another (not just all the new ones, ALL of them), it's nice to have something new to do that's reasonably challenging.
Secondly, DoDH was (and is) also an excellent expansion - one that I have yet to really sink my teeth into, to be honest - for the non-uber. Monster Missions alone provided content for anyone of any level, because it doesn't matter what level you are once you step into that instanced zone, and it doesn't matter whether you're in the uber raiding guild on your server or someone that's still working on breaking the throne room in Crushbone.
Step back and take a look at your Atlas (love that feature). Take the time to actually look over the old world. If you see a zone name you've never been to, look it up, and take one of your toons there. Sure, you may be soloing, but that can be a wonderful, wonderful thing, and with today's gear in Kunark zones, it's cake.
Yes, I think that the expansions came out far too quickly to have the real depth of thought and content that they should, and I think that all of the expansions this year could have been improved with more time and thought, and there would have been less downtime and fewer patches. This is purely speculation, because I have yet to scratch the surface of any of them, and have yet to step foot into PoR.
